Anyone gaming an 3+ year old driver?

I am posting just out of curiosity. Lately when I play with people I know or end up joining others at my local courses everyone seems to comment on my "old, non-adjustable driver". I am currently gaming a Callaway Diablo Edge Tour, 9.5*, with an Aldila VS Proto 60 s-flex shaft. I hit it about 280 yards, almost all carry. I have no intention of changing clubs anytime soon (I actually have a brand new backup, sames specs, in my basement).

When I ask those with adjustable drives many seem to have not been fit and are playing the thing on standard settings anyway. Not that I play from the short grass 70% of the time, but those I play with who have adjustable drivers don't seem to be driving it much better than me.

Just my observations.

Any others out there in the same boat as me.

Got a handful of drivers including two current ones. The one I hit best is an ugly, square, FT-iQ i-mix from, I think, 2009.

Ping K15 which I think is about 3 1/2 years old now.

I keep going back to my L4V. Nothing is straighter. I might keep tinkering with different shafts and will probably keep trying out newer drivers, but I just hit this head so straight there doesn't seem like a better one available at this time. I think it 6 years old now.

I ho'd away a DET and shouldn't have. That was easily my favorite Callaway driver that I have ever hit. The VS combo sounds like it would be a hot driver, nice choice.

[/quote]+1 My old, ugly and 'outdated' FT-iQ does nothing but go straight!

R9 tour issue head... I just can't seem to make the jump to a 460 head. They look huge and unwieldy.

TM 1.0 superfast tp for me.

R9 and Ping Rapture drivers for me

I can't find anything to replace it...

Adams Fast 10 with a Kusala Blue 61x. Best combo I've ever had.

I've got 3. The one I play the most is my Cally Diablo Octane Tour 9.5 with Aldila RIP alpha x. I don't see it getting replaced any time soon. I also have an old Ping G2 9.5 with an Aldila NV-65s that I hit pretty well and a Nicklaus Air Max 430-s 10.5 with the stock fujikura that can be a bomber when you just want to hit it straight.

Got an R11 that I picked up in spring of 2011 and a 983K.

I too have a Callaway Octane Tour 9.5, this with a Project X in stiff flex. Paid a whopping fifty bucks for it at Golfsmith, and the club flat out performs.

Bridgestone J33 - two of these, Cobra S9-1 Pro S, Mizuno MP600, Taylor Made R510TP all of them are from the last decade.

My Callaway Razr Tour's crown split in half yesterday. Got with the times and picked up a SLDR, but I couldn't replace the Cally when it was in one piece.

I think I got you guys beat. Cleveland HiBore XL. So old not sure when I got it, maybe 2006

I buy and try new drivers every year and within a couple of months I'm back to hitting my G5. I know I'm giving up a few yards but I never hit it bad. I know I'll keep looking but I'll never get rid of that driver.

PING G15. I hit it well, love the sound and feel. Haven't even demoed anything else in 2+ years.

FT-3 here u think it's like 4-5 years old. Need a new one just haven't gotten around to it.

I still try and own several drivers, but usually come back to my old reliable K15 with Blueboard. Great combo.
