OK you must know somebody who knows somebody? Are you a friend of Elway's?

Must be nice, I have never been able to play Cherry Hills and I've lived here my entire life.

Was not able to find a way to get on Castle Pines, the membership there is very picky about the guest play on that course, believe you me i made email after email, even my friend who is a member at Cherry Hills, tried with no luck! We had planned to play Colorado GC and Ballyneal both both had events schedule when we were gonna be there so was not able to get on, but did get an invite to return anytime they do not have a member event. I will take lost of photos! I am blessed to have friends who are members at both Cherry Hills and Prairie Dunes so to say i am excited is an understatement!

Kansas City native and played PD and Flint Hills both last week. Both are awesome courses and in great shape. If you have a day where you aren't scheduled to play, drive down the road to Newton, KS and play Sand Creek Station. Host site for the 2014 US Pub Links Championship. Awesome course and the greens are the purest of any public course I've ever played. Never crowded and is an awesome track.

Enjoy

Nice trip, but I would take Castle Pines over Cherry Hills. :-)
I concur.. I live in Denver and have played all but Flint.

Cherry Hills: Great track but I expected more. Just me. I liks CP alot more.Stay below the hole at all times. Bring a putter that is a soft hitter (my term) like a Scotty as they roll fast and it is hard to see how much slope is really there.

Sand Hills: I wrote a letter and got on, but another story. My #1 or 2 course I have played in my life. Wish I could play it all the time, changes so much based on weather. Just amazing to me what they built out in nowhwere. More than I ever expected. That noted friends I played with 2 thought it was "Okay". Just enjoy it for what it is, all I can say. (Great food though also...).

Dismal: Great track, :Long...was WINDY when we played it and only the Nicklaus course was open. I have played alot of Nicklaus courses and after some time they all feel the same. Cherry Creek CC is a good exmaple, great track but same as all the others. Wide landing areas, miss the green in the wrong area and the ball runs off 20 yards or more. Almost like Nicklaus copied ROSS type greens at pinehurst but with a twist. Makes it hard in the wind playing a course the first time.

I assume you mean The Prairie Club? If Prairie Dunes CC I have not played that course but hear great things.:

If is Prairie Club I really enjoyed this place. I liked the Pines course better but we had just played a ton of links courses so nice change. Great people, food, golf...what else can you need. Oooo cold beer and the par 3 course is fun.

Your trip will be great...took me 2 years to get it set up and was well worth it. Enjoy.
Played both Courses at Dismal, the Nicklaus Course was nice but lots of blind approaches typical 2nd shot course, Doak is so new that it needs time to mature and become what it is capable of!!!
I agree. It is a nice course but it is a second/third round course given the layout/approach shots.

Did you like Cherry Hills? I see the picture of #9 you posted, picture does not show how much elevation it really is up to the green. 18 plays easy as a par 5... tough as nails as par 4 up the hill. Have to ask did you try to pull an Arnie and drive #1? I have tried twice and both times cost me bad...stupid little creek thing on the right. =)

WOW Prairie Dunes looks very nice.

My neighbor is a member at Castle Pines (I live in Castle Pines Village) and depending on day they are picky. Believe me, if you would have been able to trade a member at Castle Pines a round at Sand Hills I do believe you would have not had that much of a issue getting on. But, honestly most of the members at Castle Pines can get on pretty much any course in the nation. It's unfortunate but that is the way it really works. My neighbor was just back from Pine Valley and has played Augusta, Merion and Cypress Point over the last few months.
