Sandestin, Fl. golf resort

Headed here for week of golf and beach starting July, 18th. Anybody know shape of courses? Never been here.

I have played Baytowne a couple of times, it was in good shape and a fun course to play. There are two other courses that basically share the same property, The Raven and I can't think of the other one......I think they are rated as a little more difficult and cost a bit more.

the courses right there at Sandestin are a little pricey, typical resort prices but well run and very convienient if you are staying there, there are some other courses down the road that I have not played, which are less expensive but I don't know anything about them except I played with a guy at Baytowne that said they were worth playing.

The signature course on the property, Burnt Pines, is open but on temporary greens. I called last week to inquire about a trip there and thats what I was told.

They looked pretty good a couple of weeks ago, the Raven is my favorite and almost always in good shape. They have had a ton of rain though lately which has played havoc with the greens.

Regatta Bay is another nice course in the area but was the hardest course I've ever played.........if it isn't in the fairway it's freakin' ob.

Yeah was told Burnt pine was temp. greens. I'm booked on Raven and Baytown twice each, and one round each on Links and Burnt Pine.

Played the Raven for State Am qualifying a couple weeks ago and it should be in fine shape. It was a bit soft then because we had a very wet stretch of weather, but since then it's been mostly sunny and very hot. Courses will still play soft, but not soggy unless we get a big dump of rain again. Expect temperatures in the low 90s and dew points near or even above 80 while you're here.

Never have played the Baytowne course, but I hear good things about it. Should be in similar condition to the Raven.

Played the links course recently, and it wasn't in the best of shape. Winter was tough on the greens, and the resort puts the least amount of resources into maintenance for it.

Burnt Pine is on temps because the greens are being converted to a new kind of grass. Should still be an enjoyable day, though.

Windswept Dunes is worth the drive to go play if you're looking for a more reasonably priced round. It's in quite good shape this year and usually very easy to get a time on. Very long, so choose your tees wisely.

The guys at the Edwin Watts in Destin will take good care of you if need any pro shop type stuff while here.

Played Baytown and Links a few weeks ago. Both were in good condition for the most part. The greens on Baytown were a bit sketchy, but appeared to be getting better, not worse. I anticipate that they are fine by now.

Hmmm will be in Destin at the same time. Since my job revolves around golf I don't make it a priority to play when I'm down there but I do hit balls almost every morning at sea scape and usually play once or twice there when the kids are napping. Sea Scape is not the best conditioned course but is super convenient to where I stay. I played 9 holes at Santa Rosa Golf Club last time I was there...hit me up if you want to play....no promises though.
