Ecco biom spiked vs Ecco biom hybrid

Recommended Posts

Is the fit and feel of these identical?

I've tried on the hybrids and they felt wonderful but I usually play in a spiked shoe.

I know for example, that the Ecco street fit me a little tighter, so I just want to be sure before I drop the coin on the spiked version. No store near me sells the spiked version.

Thank you for all of your help.

I wear the hybrids daily (don't even use them for golf much other than hitting balls now and then). I play in the spike version....absolutely love them. The fit is similar but the feel is even more comfortable and supportive than the hybrids in my opinion.

i had both, I love the hybrids, can't say enough good things about them. The spiked ones had to go back, for some reason unknown to me, they were never comfortable and were still giving me blisters after 6 rounds, and then to top it all they leaked like a sieve when I played in the rain. They went back and my current spikes are TW14's.

Thank you so much. This is great info. I think I'm just going to get the hybrids.

Best wishes!

I have 1 pair of hybrids... But I have 6 pair of the spiked Bioms. No comparison for me. I think the spiked version is the absolute best shoe I have ever owned.

What I dont understand is, the spiked were no good for me, but I love the hybrids and pinggator has said he much prefers the spikes. They are supposed to be made on the same last, with the same foot-shape and they look identical to my eyes except for the spikes... but it wasn't the spike that was hurting me, it was rubbing at the heel and a pain in one toe!

I have a pair of both.

The hybrids are a bit heavier and maybe a little stiffer.

The spiked version are very light and they feel totally different. You can feel the spikes through the sole a little, especially when using the hybrids for a few weeks and then going to the spiked for a round. However, this doesn't cause any discomfort at all, and perhaps they are the more comfortable shoe - lighter, more flexible and your feet breathe much better wearing them.

Overall, I prefer to wear the hybrids if dry and the spiked if wet.

One strange thing I noticed was that the spiked seem to run a size larger than the hybrids - I have the laces pulled right in on the spiked to get a snug fit. I reckon I would fit into a size smaller.

I definitely think they are NOT the same shoe... just the same last. The Spiked version is a larger shoe... much more room. the 43 is plenty big in the spike, but very snug in the hybrid.

and the hybrid feels a bit "clunky" to me by comparison.

i think its the way they lace...

Neil[/quote]the shoe itself is different. The spike shoe is much more a dress shoe style upper whereas the hybrid is more like a casual street shoe type upper. Both are nice but I prefer the spiked.

I have two pairs of the spiked version, along with a pair of 360's and some dryjoy tours.

The adidas and footjoys have a solid layer of dust on them.

Needless to say, the eccos are the best shoes I've ever owned.

Size wise I say they run a tad on the larger side as well. I usually wear a 11.5-12 for tennis shoes and the 11-11.5's in the eccos fit me perfectly.

yeah instead of 10-10.5s, I think they are 10.5 - 11's and the ecco rep said that the Biom last is larger in the toe box but fit more true to size in the heel as that is what thier studies showed worked better for athletes.

I have both and they are both fantastic. Got to really test them out on a recent golf trip, walking about 50 miles in 4 days. The spikes are not as comfortable to walk in unless the turf is soft. If its firm, the spikeless are much better for me. If I had to pick one, its the spikeless. Never slip, most comfortable for me. Just wish they were more waterproof.

I live in north Louisiana... My course has teeboxes that are awful. I slip in the hybrid ones....

It is probably all in my head...lol.
