What do you pay to play golf in a month, not counting equipment or betting?

Recommended Posts

What do you typically pay each month to play golf, not counting new equipment or betting or food?

I'm talking green fees, cart fees, membership fees, direct costs to play.

FYI, I usually walk, and play a local military base course for $15.50 per round, 1 time per week, so I'm at $62.00 per month.

What do you guys pay?

I was lucky enough to work at a country club and play at that property or any property owned by our parent company for a $5 fee.

Edit: I could have walked for free, but the $5 was the cart fee for employees.

So lets say 2 rounds a week I'm looking at $40 for the month.

Now however I have a grown up job and lost my privileges obviously.

So now I play worse courses, for more money. And less times per month.

I am in the neighborhood now of $120/month for playing at most 5 times. (my usual course just to get out and play is a par 3 course)

Through highschool I worked at a country club and then playing 4 years of college golf I have MAYBE spent $500 in the last 8 years for summer tourney entries and stuff. I dont know whats going to happen when I actually have to pay to play every time..... may have to give up the game until I start making real money!

This year I'm around 4-5 rounds a month, each around $30. So $120-150. Previous years my work schedule was a little lighter and could get 10 rounds a month.

$200 a month green fees -- winter that gets up closer to $300-$350.

i use to play really cheap places in the summer (AZ) but now decide to pay a little extra to play the courses that will be in the $180-$250 range in the winter.

$50 a month range all i can hit.

and $1500 in shopping sprees for my better half........

Well, I guess it would be $160.
My home course has a day/night scramble every year and the winning team wins a free membership for the next year.
My team has won it 5 years in a row. Lol. Entry fee is $60/person.
Then I allow myself another $100 for practice and to travel and play new/other courses.

That tournament is coming up soon come to think about it. Hopefully we make it a 6-peat.

Big fat zero. I could play almost every day if I had the time. Part of the reason I work where I do is for golf privileges. While I may buy balls sometime I don't need to as I have over 500 in a bucket. But it is not perfect. The job wears me out and I may have just messed up my knee pretty good repairing bunkers from all the rain we have had. Ughhh.

I pay $900 / year for walking pass plus $25 / month for unlimited range balls so just under $100.00 per month. That does not include any scrambles which I'll often pay to get into. I rarely ride, but when I do I can tack on $14 for the cart.

NZ$1200 per year. Play at least 70 times per year (not including the 6-8 matches I play at other clubs when representing the club in inter-cliub competition….. Maybe just north of $15 per round….Maybe a little south of $15 per round.

I haven't spent a cent on range fees in 2.5 years….not since I bought a Flightscope to use at home :)
