Sedona Arizona golf

We may be trading our timeshare into Sedona around Christmas time. Anyone have any feedback on courses in the area?

Play the resort. It's a blast, only about 6650 yards, but in very good shape and the layout is FUN! The views are pretty spectacular as well.

I've played 3 of the courses up there:
Oak creek Cc
Seven Canyons
Canyon mesa

I've heard Sedona golf resort is pretty fun, it's on the list.

I think 7 went back to private? If not, it's got some great scenery but not worth the price IMO. Just driving around Sedona will give you some beautiful views,and I found oak creek to be super fun, one of the courses I really want to go back to.

Last few holes have some really pretty views, and it's just a fun little course to play.

I love Sedona, holds a special place as my wife and I got married creek side at Los Abrigados/ talaquepaque and have spent lots of time up there

How would you rate the courses. Is Seven Canyons pretty good? I found it sunday looking at Sedona.

Potentially a late October. Rugrat has two weeks off in of October and wife being a teacher has one....so I am being "informed" we are going somewhere WARM LOL. Sedona came up as did Mesquite NV. We have been to Mesquite plenty of times so not interested in that really.

Sevon canyons was ok, I just enjoyed oak creek more. Like i said, id play oak creek over 7 canyons.Fwiw, I think oak creek was like $40 on a sat at 9am, seven was $70 at a 3pm twilight, and we finished juuuust before dark. $70 was a rip off IMO, $40 might have changed my opinion.

Also, if you guys do come to Sedona, be sure to venture out about 25-30 minutes and check out old town cottenwood as well as Jerome, both are really cool places. Old town cottenwood has some wine bars and are about to open a brewery, and Jerome is a cool old town built onto a hill.

Sedona can be cold at Christmas. Snow isn't out of the question.

Ok I was not counting on snow! Have not done any research yet.

While I could certainly play golf in those temperatures, and enjoy it, the pool will not be any fun for my wife.

And I have another question for those of you who have been there. How is the drive up from the Phoenix airport? I am petrified of heights. I simply cannot take any of those roads that hang on to the side of the hill or mountain, with or without guard rails. I am ok if I am back from the edge somewhat.

There's no cliff hanging drives from Phoenix to Sedona. You should be fine.

The drive is uneventful. Beautiful area but likely chilly in December. Sedona golf resort is where you want to play. Fun and beautiful layout. Great red rocks. Also the pink jeep tours are awesome, but you'll be climbing huge rocks in a jeep, if that freaks you out.

It will could be pretty cold there in December possibly even snow. If it snows though it usually melts right away and could be beautiful the next day. Oak Creek is decent and fun. Seven Canyons is absolutely beautiful the track layout is really confusing though.

OP you should just come to Phoenix or Scottsdale, I definitely would not suggest Sedona in the winter time. It's a sweet place but all of the cool sight seeing things are outside and you may freeze your a$$ off.

Thanks lefty. I was just starting to think about that. We are actually booked to Grand Cayman as we have each Christmas the last four years, but airfare has just gone nuts from here in Cincinnati. It is almost double what I paid last year. Phoenix is the only place I have found that has decent weather and reasonable air fare.

Fares in and out of CVG are stupid. I have family in SW Ohio and fly Southwest nonstop to Indianapolis. The two hour drive is worth the $200 savings.

Best make sure your hotel has a heated pool. Even in Phoenix. May be hot in the summer but we do have a winter here.
