Jones carry bags

Hi guys,

I'm looking into buying a Jones traditional carry bag and was wondering whether anyone has one and how good/ bad they are?

Great bag in every sense of the word. You'll never make a better investment in a carry bag.

Haven't had a Jones bag in nearly 20 years, but back in the day they were the cats pajamas. Glad to see they're back and they look fantastic!

I've got the Players Series 001. It's a great bag. IMO the best carry bag I've owned. It's a very traditional bag without a lot of bells and whistles. It's high quality but basic....all you need.

How is using that bag compared to a normal 2 strap lightweight carry bag? I imagine you use it to walk rounds with around 10 clubs.

I've been eyeing that thing for a few months now... maybe I'll pull the trigger if they do a black friday sale again.

I just got the Players bag and love it. You can easily get 14 clubs in it and the quality is fantastic. Best investment I've made in years and would never go back to a large, double strap bag again. I only carry and walk BTW...

There was a good looking Jones bag for sale on the BST a couple days ago. But, it sold.

I've got 3 of them and they're all great. The 'original' model is probably my favorite. This is not a negative to me but it's the one issue I get asked about the most and that is the lack of stand. The only way this affects me is I don't put my bag on wet ground, which can be tricky in the dew but you get used to it.

Let's put it this way, the weight savings without a stand feels much better than the small issue of occasional dampness on the ground. And it looks much better without a stand as well, in my opinion.

Very simply - a walking golfer's bag - lots of tradition and memories of a time long ago come with it for free!

Mine is definitely a conversation starter too.

I actually like the single strap better. I've never been able to adjust the 2 strap bags to a strap length that feels comfortable. I walk 99% of the time and carry 13 or 14 clubs in my Players Series and it works fine. I've had mine for about 1 1/2 years now, use it twice a week, and it still looks like new.

I got an "Original"two Christmas'ago, and I really like the idea of the bag, but it really didn't work for me. I usually play early, and the dew was an issue. I have been having some shoulder issues, and a double strap distributes the weight more evenly. With my shoulder, I may quit carrying, and start using a three wheeler all the time. That being said, the Jones bag is a great bag.

Yeah dry grips are overrated.

Fabulous walking bag - I have the Original in green and black and alternate the two for every round when I am not playing hickory. I carry mine clubs forwards and the balance ie very good.

If it bothers anyone about laying it on the (wet) ground then just get yourself some "hickory sticks", or make some. Much cooler than a stand bag and doubles as a walking stick!

I've got a players series #2 and really like it. I rotate between it, an old l8 and a mackenzie. The jones may be my favorite. Better strap and lighter than the mackenzie and has a water bottle holder.

Hoping the white holds up though

I've been using my navy US Open carry bag all season. A really great bag, seems to be holding up well.
