Some know I live in the Midland / Odessa Area , those shootings where not but 2 miles from the Club I belong too. Life is short, take care of each other
Dropped a AD GP into the driver, combo will either be ADGP Driver / AD DI 9x , or MRC Diamana LTD 70TX / Diamana 90TX 3w
620’s in the bag playing off 48* wedge , all -1* weak , -1* flat
testing Kuro Kage XD TX 70 battle of pro W 70tx also D+ 70tx driver wars
lamkin sink fit , pingman on steroids - bettinardi pls bring murdered version to retail
m2 deep face retired :-( , Tour issue 90tx D+ installed in m6 3w, the m2 DF was an epic club for me, had more ounces hot melt than than Holly Sonders followers on Instagram
Happy holidays everyone, low scores and a safe travels to you all
Giving it a whirl
Those 620s are so money. Absolute butter.
How have you found the kk xd compared to the other shafts you’ve been testing?
I wish I had the game to play those 620s... Beautiful clubs!
They are not that bad , really , bad shot is a bad shot whether GII (game improvement irons ) or these
Irons - MB 620
Probably my 1 or 2nd favorite irons EVER..... Tied or better than TMAG R9 TP B-Stamp Txxxxx , zero offset irons (what’s amazing those irons R9’s where cast) but that zero offset with TI Dynamic Gold X7..... the X7’s didn’t make the cut this time, required an almost all out 6th gear swing , and the X100’s HS x1 in these 620’s give me more options. While not mizzy soft, they have better feel than my previous MB 712’s and 716’s. My specs are -1* weak so even slightly less offset, and IMOP it’s noticeable. Best MB since the 690’s again, just this players opinion.
Woods, whole sale shift to SIM Sans R15 5w for courses +7,000 yds
Driver Went 8* , loft on a driver messes with this mental midgets head. M5 was perfectly fine, if you are in-between I feel you are not giving anything up on the driver.
Battle of driver shafts - Club house leader is prob PROW 70TX, only bc for some reason it just feels more stable or better for me than the KK XD 70TX , PROW is a touch heavier weight wise , but the KK XD is prob the longest and most anti left but I have not yet to 100% gotten comfortable with the KK. (THE Good ole D+ 70TX is on standby )
SIM 3w , bought on a Whim, M5 3w was great IMOP and i loved the size of the M5 3w vs the SIM to be honest. However, I thought bc the size the SIM would perform as well off the deck, the turf interaction is surprisingly excellent for 180CC vs 160 (M5) . Great feeling, albeit , like its m5 predecessor a little heavy on the SW size at d4 (with 90g shaft 43”) .... actually in this combo have the my old friend AD DI 90X in this combo . This sim combo is long, really effin long, for practicality purposes too long. But with the 8* driver I like the height the SIM 3w gives and ability to cut corners and land loft. 8* here in WTX for those windy days.
Potential shaft challenger in this club is my old D+ 90TX which launches lower than the ADDI but then goes more like a driver and 2 drivers I do not need.
The oldest club in my arsenal - doesn’t get much bag time R15 5w w/ a Fujikura FIT ON PRO 95XX (really just a tour issue 100g weight piece of rebar) and she’s got melted to D5
350 yd and under par 4 club or if i am totally cross with the driver on a given day. Carry 250 and fairway finder 20 yds of roll with a stinger but it Versatile and can be launched in to the stratosphere with a nice fade, with the AD DI 105x tipped 2“ CPM 295 , had to hot melt the head to the point where is was oozing out the port. Thx Phil at Golf HQ Lubbock - this is prob my second oldest club next to the 5w.
Wedges - Still on Wedge works V grind TVD’s with S400
Bettinardi , prob my favorite putter , installed YSC (the old Cameron stepped shafts) - just love the look and my collection of head covers , maybe vanity crush on this club for me **loving the iomic grip on the putter***
New to the stable - Piretti Potenza II , at first wasn’t a huge fan of the 365g head weight (jury sometime still out) but I could order from Piretti with a sight dot, the 350s you cannot get 😥 HINT HINT HINT Guys in houston !!!!! But took out the the striaght shaft and installed a YSC True temper shaft (I Like these for my putters) 35.25” with a super stroke X traction grip 2.0 tour , with 75g counter balance weight ..... You do not even want to know the swing weight , something only a mother could love. But its like Thor’s hammer. HOWEVER , 10ft and in , and the roll are on point..... Longer lag putting might have to go the Bettinardi along with the cool factor , but pressure putting this thing might stay in the bag.
I swore off using Z cord Tour issue .580 grips because unicorns might be easier to find, but they are back on all my clubs except putter.
Went to a regular sized grip on the wedges, had been using Mid sized or built up, wanted a bit more action to create some spin and the smaller grip allows that for some reason for this player
Flat lie angles irons and wedges - any where from 1-2* flat on the irons and wedges 62* on the wedges and .25” to .5” over Titleist length. I have gone to the std MB 620 lie angles, this gets me a bit closer to the ball. I’m 6’3, I’m getting a bit more center strikes, but sometimes love that Uber flat golf swing feeling
Play well and be safe everyone
KK - wins on launch, & prob the longest of the two
PROW is just a hair more stable, a little heavier which I like.
Really a toss up, with the 8* head, if i can get the KK XD to work with my swing, its the performance winner. Just a bit more comfortable with PROW at the moment.
any pictures of your studio stainless 350, that has to be one sweet flat stick, #classic
