Clubs I Wish Ping Would Make and/or Reissue

I love Ping golf equipment and think the company is well-run and well-managed.

I especially like that they do not fall prey to the marketing machine, nor do they try to accelerate the product cycle unnecessarily.

However, there are some clubs I wish Ping would consider making or reissuing because I would certainly buy them.

I am sure other Ping loyalists have strong thoughts clubs Ping should make/reissue too.

Clubs I wish they would consider making.

- Rapture Driving iron in more lofts (25 degrees, 23 degrees, and/or 21 degrees.

Clubs I wish they would bring back

- Scottsdale Anser and Anser 2 putters in BeCu and BeNi (OSHA regs do not apply now that your production is outside the US)

- Stepped putter shafts with a long first step

- Eye2 irons with conforming grooves and in BeCu and BeNi

- Original Rapture driver

I also think the J bag was the best carry bag they ever made....bring it back with top to bottom club separators.

Anyone agree with these proposals?

What other clubs should be made/reissued?

I think the driving iron is getting too competitive to get more lofts. TM has the slot, Titleist is known for the soft feel, and Callaway has completely redesigned theirs (for the better).

Definitely need to bring back the J bag! Great ideas all around otherwise. I would be tempted to find a spot in my bag for a 21 degree rapture DI.

I have a new Rapture DI with the stock stiff flex shaft and had some trouble hitting it. I'm going to try an R flex Steelfiber i80 hard-stepped 1x to see if I can get a little more height on the shots.

I wish Ping would make more bags that didn't have the 14 separate club slots. I have a Pioneer cart bag and really like it except for that. I also wish the stand bags could be converted into a single strap if you wanted it that way.

A list of reissues WITH modifications has to include

- I3+/I3+ Blades/i5 irons with legal grooves

- Eye 2/Eye 2+ irons with less offset/more substantial hosel/head transition (and legal grooves)

- Scottsdale Anser/Anser 2 putters with 350 gram head weights

I'd love to see some old bag models, mainly the Hoofer 2 and the K56.

And the G5 3 wood!!!!!!!!!! My God I love this thing.

Interesting idea.

The Anser series of clubs. Probably my favorite Ping wood (and hybrid) line ever. In fact, nothing really close to it, and I've tried everything (sans G30).

The iWedge. I love the Eye2-eqsue grinds but hate the look of the Eye2, this series was pretty pleasing to the eye and would find its way into my bag pretty quick. Don't see many cavity backed non-set wedges as the Gorge wedges seem pretty enterchangeable with a Vokey or Cleveland wedge.

Not a rehash but other things I'd like to see: Rapture driving irons in lofts through a 5 iron, and more hybrid shaft options through the WRX department (the Project X black and the RIP were not my favorite shafts....).

cant believe more don't say this ^^^^^^......why oh why wont you make a forged iron? ...doesnt have to be a MB....but something along the lines of a callaway x forged, or MP 60ish..... something soft and low offset , add perimeter weighting of you want but no high bounce soles..... Ive spoken with several players who would love to play an all ping bag...but cant find an iron they can stand the look of...
to me they are thumbing their nose at a large section of the market and in the process loosing a lot of back end sales....Think of how many more fairways, drivers, bags, apparel etc they could potentially sell if a player switched to their irons...in other words if your asking me "what should ping make"? my answer is an iron that fills the gap from their normal audience to the audience that doesn't give their products a second look because of their irons...Im not saying Ping makes junk..Im saying Ping doesnt make an iron for everyone...and i wish they would...

That would be the Ping i5.

Both are classics but the I5's are a decent bit bigger then the Eye2 especially in the longer irons

Not many sets like the Eye2, a lot of offset in a relatively compact (by today's standards) clubhead

I wonder if it would do well enough to merit a limited re-release. We will probably never know

Totally agree but ISI's as well..........and make them in becu............. but that ain't happen as becu is not safe to manufacture. Find a suitable replacement for becu - same patina effect - make them with less of less offset and current lofts and Ping would be laughing all the way to the bank.

I took my old Eye2+s out a couple weeks back. Once I got over myself and accepted the massive offset, I was absolutely amazed at how easy they are to play (and how hard it is to hit a bad shot really). Not just on full shots, but around the greens too - just a blast to play. They actually even have a nice feel. I really think that one set the GI benchmark that still stands, and everyone has just been trying to replicate it in a more modern look since.

Interesting how golf has become a competition of OEMs trying to out do each other. When, I believe, most avid golfers would love to see the very best clubs still being produced. I know that improvements do get made but why not tweak the classics instead of total redesign as some have mentioned with the Eye 2 iron. Maybe a little more rounded toe, less offset, modern lofts and shafts. Seems OEMs believe they need to reinvent the wheel every 6 months nowadays

ISI-S irons for sure. I still have a 5-iron that I picked up for literally a couple of bucks many years ago, and will toss it in my bag just to hit a few shots on the range. They came out maybe a year after I bought the set of Wilson Staff Midsize that I still use today, and I couldn't really justify their purchase, with the Wilsons being so new (at the time).

The Zing 2 was the "current" model when I purchased the Wilsons. A great design, but just a bit too much bounce from a tight lie to make it the #1 choice for me.
