Very nice! I like how clean it looks.

I can't wait until mine comes in!

Thanks again for the fitting last week.

Good luck with it! Tell me how it feels with the insert!

Best wishes!

  • 2 weeks later...

My putter just arrived as well. Woo hoo!

365 grams. 68 degrees lie, 4 degrees loft. 34 inches long. Pixl insert.

I've only rolled it on my practice green. 9 holes tomorrow!

Thanks for the fitting Taylor Johnson.

Wbond:

To make a long story short, through my research I settled on the Edel concept. My father had an old Pixl putter and I always loved the feel of that technology, so I was even more decided to go through the custom fitting process with Edel.

I was fit for my entire bag back in March, except for the putter, and have been playing the best golf of my life. The putter was holding me back, so I decided to shell out the dough.

Anyway, as luck would have it, taylorjohnson121 was coming to Tallahassee for the FSU--Clemson game, so we were able to coordinate a fitting the Friday before the game.

We had a great time. He showed me that I was consistently aiming well left with my current putter. And we eventually worked up to my custom specs. Even after a few cocktails after the official fitting was over, I was aligning the putter with more consistency on target.

I ordered the putter the following Tuesday and had it in about 2.5 weeks.

I've only played 27 holes with it so far. I shot a 36 with 15 putts Friday. This Sunday I shot a 74 with 29 putts. To close the round I birdied 17 and 18. 17 was a 20 footer and 18 was a 10 footer.

The point is that the amount of confidence I feel with the putter is amazing since I am trusting the process I went through. My hope is that this continues.

The icing on the cake was that I could customize it. I went with as simple as possible. I don't like a lot of stampings and stuff so I kept that stuff off. My only wish, is that I wanted a white sight dot instead of black. I'm sure I can change that myself down the line.

In short, if you get a chance to get fit, I highly recommend Taylor Johnson as well as Edel.

Best wishes.

I have to be in Atlanta in a couple weeks and I was thinking about giving Bill Baraban a call to get fitted for a putter and irons as well as bringing my Dad to do the same. I'm a good player that is really streaky. I carry a .9 index and if my putter is on, I can go really low. If I'm not putting well, I can shoot 78. My driver and irons have always been solid but I've been held back by my putter. I've never been fit for my putter and I am hoping this will help give me more confidence or at least understand what I am doing wrong.

I have gone through the fitting and ended up with the same head shape and similar offset. My aim was also well left. The thought was that this would be my last putter so i went with some stamps.

That is awesome! I'm glad to see that there is a pattern for those of us who aim left. It adds more credible evidence to a system that I now fully believe in.

I like all your stamps. For me, I'm a little more minimalistic, but your time of service stamped on the bottom is too cool! Looks great!

How long have you had the putter?

Have you noticed an improvement in your putting?

Best wishes!

Time of service couldn't be more true. I'm guessing that's Daddy service though and the initials and birth dates of his kids.

Yep, kids birthdates on the bottom. Another reason to make sure I stick with one putter. Although i gotta say i am still itching for a Machine or Byron, but the kids just seem to eat up any extra $$$.

This is my second season with it and the putting is getting better. I have reduced my three putts by over half a stroke around. My total # of putts is also a little lower, about a half stroke. I think it's a little skewed because this year i am hitting 1.5 more greens per round. It did take some time to get over the aiming left issue, especially on shorter putts. I think it was more psychological than anything. The one thing i still struggle with though is long lag putting, not that i was any good before.

Very nice wbond.

Since I have used the putter my putts per round have been:

9 holes--15
9 holes--14
18 holes--29
9 holes--13

Psychologically, I am more excited to putt and feel like I have a real chance to make anything from 10 feet and in. Obviously, I won't. But it seems like I am making more of these par saving putts.

For example, on the 9th hole last night--par 4--I hit a poor drive into the deep rough. I managed to hack it out and had 140 left. All I wanted to do was get it on the green within 20 feet to have a chance. I hit a good shot to 12 feet and managed to make the putt. The point is that those types of putts were always missed by me. Now, I feel like I should make them. And walking off with a par save feels helluva lot better.

Anyway, I'm really enjoying the putter and I hope others are as well.

Best wishes.
