the best matching shaft for Nike Blades

help please??
Hello,

So, i've been playing my nike blades for about 4 months now, and i like it a lot, especially the short ones(6 and shorter). But having some trouble using the long ones and also i feel the shafts are not stiff enough for me. So i was wondering i can have some feedback from some co-nike-blade-users on the shaft recommendation.

FYI, my swing temp is about the average, my 7 yardage = 150. makes relatively higher trajectory.

currently using DG R300, have used DG SL, DG S300, PX 5.0, PX 6.0, Rifle 5.5 on various blades(Miura, Taylormade CB, Mizzy mp-33's....).

I'd like to keep my nike for at least next one year or so because i've gone through 7 different irons for last 18 months. So, this time i'm really trying to find the right shaft for me. I"m leaning toward PX 6.0 or S200.

Help please~!!!

Of the other shafts you tried which one did you like the best? If your playing R300's now and you like the feel but they are not stiff enough then look into some S300's in DG or DG SL depending on your preference of weight. If you can set up a fitting session somewhere that'll help too. I have tried quite a few shafts and I've come to the determination that DG 300's fit my swing the best, but it took a while.

I have been using Tour Concept s3 (soft stepped) and flighted rifle 5.5 with great success recently. Your specs sound very similar to mine - s300 is not very responsive for me, rifle 6.0 is a bit boardy feeling. The Tour concepts and 5.5 flighted were both firm enough in the short irons to provide control, and have a little extra kick in the long irons. My iron game has never been better.

That was our original logo for Scratch Golf Clubs! LOL  :cheesy:

Back to topic, Id reccomend either Tour Concept S3s or Nippon NS Pro 1150 S flex. Id stay away from the Project X.

Thanks for the inputs guys.

I actually tried PX 5.0 on taylormade CB, 5.5 on mizzy-33, and 6.0 on miura combo(mb/cb). and i kept the 5.0 for the longest time but it was mainly because i liked the heads a lot. To be honest, among the three flexes, i liked the 6.0(especially for the mid-short irons). BUt when it was time to choose the flex for my CB, I've got much responses recommending 5.0.

the thing about PX shafts to me is that...they are really tight feeling and stiff for given weight. But they do send the ball too high for me. say, PX 6.0 is higher than R300 for the trajectory.

i WAS actually thinking of trying Rifle Flighted 5.5 at this time. but wanted to hear someone actually using them...(you don't see that many rifle flighted around)..

dunno much about tour concepts(except for the colors and number..weight, torque, and stuff), i mean i've never even seen it. but just with the numbers, it sounds a lot like rifle tour flighted(varing flex...)

any actually using them???

again, Thanks for your help guys

I have had TFR5.5 and TC S3 in my last two iron sets, and did not find a huge difference in performance between the two. You can feel the TCs load a bit more, and they do feel very nice - even in comparison to the TFRs. However, the TFRs are half the price with 90% of the performance. The main difference in performance, IMO, is the feel. TCs are just a bit more "springy" IMO.

If price and looks are not a concern, I would choose the TC s3. I think they were slightly longer for me than the TFRs, and, although the TFRs feel quite nice, the TC s3 was an even better feeling shaft. My only dislike of the TCs was the teal finish, which I found distracting. The TFRs look so elegant in comparison. Both are fantastic for my game - it really is splitting hairs.

well a shaft isnt really gonna solve all your problems so dont go in thinking that, i have the opposite problem in that i hit the ball very high and the shafts dont completely fix that. if your hiting a 7 iron bout 150 id say stick with maybe a softstepped s flex. we really would need your 6 iron swing speed to better tell you what to hit. part of the reason you dont get the long irons up is that the nike blade is designed for a very flat low trajectory, hence the very small muscle on the club whereas something like the new 695 has a larger muscle to provide a higher flying trajectory. Id say if your having trouble getting your long irons controlled and high enough try the pro combo cavity long irons as theyre designed to fly higher and more controlled as far as forgiveness. your just not really ever gonna hit a blade with that high a cg all that high unless you steepen your swing.
