Best deal for The Ocean Course at Kiawah you will ever see...

Kiawah offered this last year, and they are repeating it this year.

$300 per villa (not per person), or $400 per room at the Sanctuary, including TWO dinners OR TWO rounds of golf per night.

Golf is good for all resort courses, including the Ocean Course. This means of you stay as a single, you can play the ocean course the day you arrive AND the day you leave. Or if you stay two to a room or villa, one round each. Typical rack rate for the ocean course is over $300!

Weather can be iffy sometimes, but playable all winter here in SC.

No the course is in PERFECT shape was out there last week. They are not punching till next may I do believe. IT is just that Nov is a crapshoot for weather. It could be 65-75 or 40 and blowing so you don't get the perfect weather. Tho I will say it is a decent deal because the prices do drop off the table in nov. They are not 300 plus anymore. But what they are offering as a package is a great deal! I will take them up on it too as I have a short car ride to get there.

Hey JD it sounds as if you live fairly close. Of the months Nov-Feb, which is most likely to have the best weather or is it all a crap shoot?

Weather at the beach is always a "crap shoot" but based on historic averages November is by far your best chance for good weather.

The only conditioning concern is overseed, but this does not apply to the greens as they just go dormant and still play wonderfully. It's a complete steal.

May make the trip down in February, play the Ocean and another course at Kiawah - then stop at Pinehurst on the way back. Anyone know if they have deals at Pinehurst during the offseason?

A little curious. So 600 bucks for two nights at a nice place and i get to play the ocean course twice?

I think if you just stay one night for $300, you would get to play the arrival and departure day

Also to Daryguy77, yes Pinehurst has winter deals too. They probably have other packages too but the Evergreen package is pretty good.

Villas are tiered -- you can book a "premier" level villa and request east beach near Sanctuary (Turtle Pt villas are close to the hotel). Granite countertops etc although obviously still a condo feel, not Ritz Carlton level. Great choice esp if you have kids or want space.

Whatttt??? I was just down there and paid $355 or something just to play the Ocean course. This is a absolute steal!

Ill ask again because i really have no clue! Haha. Ocean course twice or ocean course and what other course? And also are there carts there or do i have to get a caddie?

Ocean twice. Pretty sure there are three options on the cart and caddie 1) Play after noon and carry your bag, no caddie required. 2) Play after noon and ride in cart, forecaddie comes with you 3) Play before noon and caddie is required. Recommended minimum tip is $35 for the forecaddie and $75 for caddie. I recommend taking a caddie you can soak up the course as you walk and not having to carry a bag is always a plus. They are all incredibly knowledgeable of the course, have all of the yardages down, and will read the greens much better than you can. My guy shaved plenty of strokes off my score from just telling me the breaks, otherwise I would have been left pretty frustrated on the greens.

Thanks for the response! Yeah a caddy sounds awesome but that tip is pretty darn expensive. Haha

I'd actually recommend playing Ocean Course once and one of the other courses the 2nd round.

I think i will end with the ocean course and get a little warm up with the first round. Anyone know what other course is a must play? Love the whole next to the ocean idea if there are any others like that!

How booked are they?

I saw this today and just booked it for November. Average hi temps 67*F ave lows 53*F. Not bad :-)

Our family used to do Christmas for years, and we played the ocean every year, along with all the other courses. Weather wasn't great, but certainly warm enough for golf, courses were in great condition, overseeded of course. Back then rack rate for ocean was about $100.
