My first torch job! And now SECOND!

I have been wanting to do this for sometime and finally got a few nights to go through the process. This is my first torch job and I am very pleased with how it came out. I went with all black paintfill as I love the look of the gloss black on a torched head. I have added a few before pics, as this was a Select model that was initially black which was bead blasted off. Let me know what you guys think...

That's right I did it again! This time with a friends beat up del mar. Stripped her, sanded her, torched her, and painted her! Let me know what you think

Love it, great job. The purples are really nice. I'm going to do my Circa 62 once its fully polished up

looks great. I'm not a fan of the dull grey look some putters have so I anytime I see one that gets changed I generally like it.

Thanks guys! I agree, I loved the bead bleast look for awhile but I wanted something unique. Now my buddies won't stop blowing up my phone wanting me to work on their flatsticks!

How long did you torch it for to get that look?

I combined a few methods, baked it in the oven @ 500*F for 1 hour then hit it with MAPP gas torch for about 10 minutes following.

I remember that putter! LOL.

Nice job! I think the torching looks phenomenal and better than the original finish I put on the putter.

Thanks Buddy! Ya I was a little hesitent to do it to this putter because it was sooo pristine from the get go with a nice bead blast finish...but my curiosity got the better of me

Thank you! I did not dip it in anything, just did the bake and torch and let cool naturally over night. I think some people complicate the process too much with things like that.

Thanks! I had that in mind a bit when I was planning it, I just wanted to get a few hints of purple so it would be my own. And I'm a sucker for black paintfill, my Newport 2 is bead blast finish with all black paintfill as well

Looks great. I haven't torched a SS putter yet, but want to try. Carbon steel is what i usually stick to.

[/quote]Quenching in oil is generally when torching carbon steel to keep it from rusting, not really for stainless.

This is indeed an impeccable and beautiful job. I guess the even the Custom Shop couldn't produce something like this.
