Houston Golf Clinics (Monte S & Dan C) ***Sponsored Post***

Recommended Posts

E3 Golf Academy would like to invite you to participate in golf clinics in February and March featuring some of the best instructors in the business. We are a brand new Instruction, Fitting, and Fitness academy that is just getting started here on the North side of Houston. In February we will be bringing in Monte Scheinblum and in March, Dan Carraher (iteachgolf). Chase Cooper (lv_2_hack) will also be attending and assisting.

Each clinic will be held on a weekend and consist of a max of 20 attendees. Each clinic will also feature a Pure Performance Golf Lab fitting cart and certified fitter, giving every attendee the option of getting fit for any of the new 2015 equipment lines or perhaps just tweaking their current set. We will work from 9-5 on Saturday and 9-2 on Sunday. If travel schedules permit, we might try to get together Friday night for dinner before getting to work Saturday morning.

We are still deciding on the location, but it will likely be at the Cypress Creek Driving Range on the north side of Houston.

Dates:

February 7th and 8th: Monte Scheinblum and Chase Cooper

March 14th and 15th: Dan Carraher and Chase Cooper

If you have any questions feel free to PM Chase (lv_2_hack) or myself about any questions you might have including price.

Should be fun Chris. Monte and Dan are two of the best instructors in the business. What a great way to kick off the 2015 season. Add in the fitting system for all the club ho's out there and it's a no brainer.

Guy's feel free to PM me with any questions. We've received quite a few PM's already and expect both clinics to fill up soon.

Will either clinic have Trackman/Flightscope access? Not a dealbreaker, just wondering.

Alright, I've received a couple of PM's about this event, and anyone who is on the fence about this, GET OFF THE DARN FENCE! You should hurry up and get signed up. There are two great opportunities to better your game with some awesome instructors. Chase, Monte, and Dan are all top notch. The added bonus of the fitting is pretty sweet.

Heck if I could swing it I'd fly my butt out to Houston for one of the dates.

One of the times I saw Monte was at his clinic in New Jersey this past August. It really added another dimension to my learning. I had done 1 on 1 lessons with Monte but the clinic was a very different and very beneficial experience. Yes it was a clinic, but it was more like a group discussion for 2/3 days. With that many sets of eyes, you get a lot of different and constructive perspectives on your golf swing. By talking it out with a group of people, everyone at the clinic felt like we gained something more than just swing changes. I would say that everyone at the NJ1 clinic had a greater understanding of the pieces that make their swing work.

I'm not sure about the format for these Houston clinics, but the one in NJ was structured really well. We got warmed up, and met as a group to assess each person's swing. After some general feedback, we set to work. At that point, Monte came and worked with us individually (there was plenty of 1 on 1 time with just 1 instructor, so 2 will be awesome.) Then we came back as a group to reassess. We also worked on short game, some discussion of shot shaping/trajectory, and some on course tips.

If anyone has any specific questions about the clinic I went to, feel free to PM me about it or post it here. I'd be glad to help. If you're not sure about going to one of these clinics, I would urge you not to miss out. The caliber of instruction from these guys is well worth the price of admission. Chase, Dan, and Monte are popular here on WRX for a reason: they know their stuff. Don't do something you might regret and lose out on this awesome opportunity.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us noobs, CS. I need to just commit and go...

No problem. Like I said if I could swing it I'd be there in a heartbeat. Already have my next trip/tuneup scheduled though haha.

Do it! Best investment in your game you can make. I dropped a ton of strokes this year.

Have never worked with Dan but would more than welcome the opportunity. As for Monte, I attended his clinic in Kansas City last October and it was far and away the most beneficial experience of my 35 years in the game. Houston is a bit out of my range and my wintertime golf finances are already committed elsewhere. However, I cannot encourage strongly enough those that do have the wherewithal to get it out of the thinking stage and commit before it's too late. You will not be disappointed.

As for me, I will without question figure out a way to see Monte again. Hopefully, back in KC next year but if he doesn't make it back here I will definitely track him down somewhere. Get there!
