ClubCorp-Room for negotiation when joining?

Does anyone have experience with joining a clubcorp club and working with the membership folks on a the initiation? The local club has offered many incentives over the last year but they all "expired" I am now interested but not 100% sure it is the place for me....Throwing down a larger initiation is a major roll of the dice.

i guess the lack of response speaks volumes. being corprate may restrict their ability on the upfront.

I've been a ClubCorp member for 11 years and it is my experience that local management has little discretion when it comes to negotiating. They are on a pretty short leash from corporate.

Short leash is being generous. The answer you are looking for is no.

I disagree In the DFW area, initiation fees are VERY negotiable if you aren't in their upper tier of clubs (i.e. - Gleneagles, Stonebriar, Timarron)

There is probably little to no room for negotiation.

I think Clubcorp relies heavily on the use of being a preferred member and the ability to play several other of their courses for a nominal fee.

There isn't necessarily a bunch of room for negotiation but they almost always have promotions running in DFW at the clubs other than Gleneagles and Stonebriar. If you can't find anything on initiation fee, then look for a member referral program. These can result in a % off monthly dues or f&b credits for 6-12 months for both you and the member.You can always ask for an f&b credit in lieu of a discount on initiation as the local membership directors can issue them w/o corporate approval.
