Just got my BB green in today. The 20% off coupon worked as the thread indicated, but I also read some reviews that advertised an "upgrade" coupon mentioned in the comments section that would net you the next size up length wise. Well I ordered a 16x4 and typed upgrade in the comments section. Didn't know if it would work or not.

Well, today I got and 18x4 green with flags, cups, some extra pieces to shape the green, and extra cut out to make a smaller hole if desired and a dozen birdie balls. I was pretty excited to say the least.

I set up the green, it laid flat within a min or two. I putted for about an hour and the roll was very nice. I bought this to work on distance control, so for it will work very well for me and it is a great value IMO.

All of the reviews I read before purchasing were that the buyers felt it looked cheap upon arrival, but it rolled well and they were happy with it. I felt like I got more than I paid for when I pulled everyting out and began putting. I think this is a great option for guys that struggle with the putter. Previous reviews indicate that the green wears well when cared for.

Money well spent IMO.

I imagine that "upgrade" will still work as it was an older deal from what I read. So if you order one size smaller then you could still save $$.

Can you putt with golfshoes on? I read that it tears up the putting mat. True?
What do you think about the hole locations? It doesn't look like there's enough room past the hole. How do you stand to finish missed putts? off the mat?

I would not wear golf shoes on this mat. Actually I usually go barefoot on it. There isn't much room past the holes, but that gives you maximum distance to putt from the other end. The two speeds of the mat are nice, fast downgrain, slower upgrain. I've used it a lot since I got it and still like it a lot. My only complaint is the "stuff bag"- if you are close to 18' in length I think the bag is a waste. I realize my green is at the limit for bag storage, but it is really difficult to get out of the bag and it has already torn. I do not store the green in the bag anymore.

For me, it has really helped me with my alignment and stroke. Distance control has improved as well. I would say that's where this might be a nice tool for some golfers, just more reps on the basics.
