DEMO DAY

New toys from: cally,nike,tm,ping.......
Today was demo day at Bay Hill. Ping, Nike, Callaway, and TaylorMade were all there.

Callaway: I hit the New Callaway X-460 driver W/ Speeder 757x. This club looks and feels great. It looks like the Big Bertha 454 just all black instead of a grey head.

Taylormade: They had the new R7 425 TP.....WOW....this club is a lethal weapon. The doesnt look at all bigger than a 400cc R7 but it has a better sound and a better feel. I would compare the feel to a titleist driver(titleist ho's know what i'm talking about!). They are releasing these very soon. I asked about the 460cc's version of the R7. They seemed surprised that I knew about it!! The 460 they said would be released next year maybe around march.

Nike: The Sasquatch and Sasquatch Tour are both OK drivers nothing really special about them. I hit the new Slingshot TOURS. These clubs seem to be very forgiving while also providing very desirable look. They have a thinner topline than the old slingshots and less offset.

Ping: I didn't really get to this station but I am sure I didn't miss much

Just thought I would fill you guys in on some new equipment!! :help:

Nice information until your comment about Ping. I have hit these clubs as well and agree with most of your assessments. The Callaway x-460 is nice looking and solid, but not as long as the FT-3. The Nike SQ and Slingshot tour's are decent at best. The TM R7 460 (yet to be released) will be an awesome club. Regardless of what Golf Magazine say's, the best fairway wood on the market is the G5 if fitted with the correct shaft. Also, the big omission from your report is the Ping I5 iron. This club has a forged feel, is very workable, and extremely easy to hit. I think my boy SirShanksAlot, who usually has good reviews, really missed the boat on his I5 review. It's not what the club looks like in the bag, but more important, what the scorecard say's at the end of the day !!!

Is the new R7 MSRP going to be like it was a few years back when the first one came out? ($499).

I hope not, because I would really like to have one and being 16....it might be tough.

I was only kidding about Ping. I have hit the new I5's and they are very solid. The ping woods look very easy to hit as well. I didnt mean to affend.......I was only kidding

The taylormade 425 TP is going to sell for $799 but the regular 425 is going to sell for just a little less.

How about "regardless of what Golf Magazine say's, the best fairway wood on the market **IN MY OPINION** is the G5 if fitted with the correct shaft"...

No disrespect, but I really don't care for the G5. At all.

I hit the 425 TP with a new Fuji that is coming out. They say its going to be the next Speeder.......popularity wise. They will have it as there stock shaft in the new TP version like the Speeder 757 was in the old R7 TP. The trajectory was high for me but the weights were set to hit it high. The sound was like a titleist driver (kinda muted). Felt very solid and the ball seemed to jump off the face. It is supposed to be much more forgiving than the older version.

Shaft was the Fuji Romax. Fuji is going to sell it for $250 a la the 757. The stock R7 will also feature a better Fuji shaft, will also sell seperately for $100. I've heard the Romax is going to be better than the 757, so we'll see. I know Taylor Made is expecting major things fromt eh new drivers.
