So, I was hitting golf balls and THIS happened...

I haven't hit ball in like, forEVER so I went to my local Golfsmith to compare my clubs to some of the new equipment. Is that new stuff REALLY longer?

The golf balls were in the "bay" were a bit beat up, so I pulled out a new Nike PD Long (Volt color) out of my bag. Toward the end of the session I hit one last 5-iron and it went about 126 yards. It felt very solid so I was wondering what happened. I picked up the golf ball and discovered this:

It was a brand new ball and had been indoors. Never ever had that happen before.

Smart man... I would send the picture of the ball to Nike and be like ?? That shouldn't happen under normal circumstances. Unless somehow it hit a meta object behind the screen a couple of time. Crazy....

I went to Nike's website but the "contact info" didn't have a provision for sending a photo. I did, however, tell them what happened. I really wanted to send them the photo, as this wasn't a small seam or something like that.

Ha! Lord knows I have been shoveling A LOT for the past month...and we are expecting 12 to 24 inches more this weekend.

Definitely wasn't anything small. They probably have a Twitter account you could send it to but I imagine a mod or someone on here would have a contact.

I have seen golf ball remnants too, but it's usually lawn mower assisted. I really want them to know about this. Has there ever been a product recall on golf balls? :-)

You see that some back up north. Too many heat/cold cycles can make the covers brittle. You keep your bag out on the garage perhaps?

It was a 5-iron...and it was a new ball...Nike recently came out with them. I wanted to use them over the winter (easy to see/inexpensive). I guess they aren't all they're cracked up to be...

Just a measly 6'5" and 205...and almost 60 years old. It's not like I'm Jamie Sladowsky or anything either. I'm not for my distance. Though I did sink a 105' putt once...though I claim that was ALL luck.
