Aldila VS 65X Proto !!!!

I have used this shaft in a Taylor Made R7 shallow for 3 rounds now a really love the feel of the shaft.I have to admit the first time I tied the shaft it didn't impress me.I think it had more to do with the length being 45.5". I cut 3/4 off the shaft and what a difference it made.You can really feel the shaft kick and the ball flight is right where I like it without it balloning like the NVS did for me.This will probably be a geat shaft for a fairway wood as well.

Is there anything specific that you want to compare it to ?

... not specifically ... just trying to get a sense of bend profile, feel, kick, stiffness, etc. ... stiffness in butt/middle/tip?

How does it compare to the current NV?

The VS proto is the blue shaft. It has lower torque than the NV but a slightly softer tip. Is still in development stages and being tested on tour. Is getting rave reviews off all who use it.

As for getting hold of one, you have to know a tour source or someone at Aldila. Other than that you have to look through the BST as they scarely come up and when they do they go for a lot and very quickly!

If you do a search there is some more detailed info on it. There are one or two people out there that are very clued up on this shaft, maybe they could add to this thread?

If compared to the green it has the same ball flight for me. This shaft is alot smoother then the green as well.

The blue also reminds me of an Accra SC 65 shaft.
