Would you spend $5,000 for a round at Augusta

absolutely not. A round of golf should not cost that much, even if you can afford it, it's a no on general principle

Never. I love golf but there isn't a course on this earth that is worth that kind of money....IMO

Been there 4 times. Greatest course I've ever set foot on. I'd go $500 max for Augusta or St. Andrews Old Course. Just the principle of things. Seems almost vulgar spending several thousand for a round of golf, especially when my yearly membership at Ben Hawes GC is $450.

I've debated trying to get a caddie gig there for one season (the course closes early anyway) just so I could play on the seasonal caddy day. However, i have no idea how one would become a caddy there.

YES! Been to Pebble, Whistling Straights, Medinah, Oakmont, Riviera, Torrey Pines, PGA National, PGA West….etc etc…… NOT 1 even came close to the feeling I got when I've been on the grounds at the Masters.

5 grand all in yes, without a second thought.

But if this option is available to everyone then I wouldn't pay the 5k.

Hey when you put it that way, Im guessing quiet a few people are OK with that burn rate in vegas for "entertainment"

Absolutely if it was a one time deal. I would make it last as long as possible though, I can't imagine the feeling of getting to play it knowing that you will never step foot on an another piece of property like it the rest of your life.

You should get out more 1,250/hr entertainment is a bargain in some places lol. I would spend 5k in a second to play there just not let the wife know.

Weekend before The Masters, both days (Saturday and Sunday), 36 a day, a veteran caddie, and I get to stay 3 nights in one of the cabins and we'll talk...

If they can host you, they don't need a few extra bucks.

Instead of 5k. Say 10% of of your annual household bring home pay. I've been to the Masters 1/2 dozen times. Never get tired of being there. Know several that have played it and their experience was incredible. If disposable income was not an obstacle, then of course. If I had to really work to save for one round. Not worth it to me. $5k could play for an entire week in Scotland or some other high end golf trip
