Alright I start it up!!!

Played Friday at a course that normally kicks my butt....

Shot an 83 Not bad as the other week I shot a horrid 101

8/13 Fairways (Yes course is 71)

9/18 GIR, Not bad 50% in my book

35 putts (Last week I had 44 putts) 2, 4putts and 3,3putts.... only 2, 3 putts this week,

So A much better improvement and some confidence building!

Won a fourball club match on Saturday two up away from home, paired with a 5 handicap. Made two birdies on par 5s after hitting it to 15' with a 7i and a wedge after a horrendous start and generally putted really well. Took me four shots to even reach the second fairway until I found a useable golf swing. Even then I still drove it awful but got it up and down from some tough spots. Think our medal score was level par 73 for the 18.

started the year in march with a 98 in a tournament in 30mph wind and temps just below 40.
:bad:

a couple weeks after that, i shot 83 with temps in the high 50s.
:aggressive:

yesterday i shot a 74. best round in at least 18 months. 4 birds, 3 bogeys and even had an 8 on a par 5. temps in the mid to upper 60s.
:yahoo:

according to this statistical trend, i obviously will be scoring in the low 50s sometime in mid summer.
:drag:

a guy can dream, right?

Small tweak to my grip. I shot an 83 on Friday and 84 on Saturday. Been shooting low 90's lately, so big jump. Friday, I was -1 on the par 5's and missed being -5 by less than 18 inches of putts total. My driver and long clubs were spot on. Need to keep that up and hit more greens, and I will be in magical territory for me.

First tournament with new men's club. Also first tournament since I returned to playing last spring.
Really struggled with the driver today ( hit it all over the place) but I scrambled like a madman. And I also hit a few great #2 hybrids off the tee that set things up nicely.
5 birdies, three over 75. Very, very happy especially since I had never played this course. Also hit a CTP 10".

Lost a match today 2&1, two completely bs lost balls did it for me. The other guy just played solid solid golf and closed it out really well.

I have been playing 8 months and still haven't brokeN 100. I play everything strictly by the rules because when I break 100 I really want it to mean something. Today I played 18 with a business associate and I was 10 over on the front and knew I had a really good shot at breaking 100. I went 18 over on the back for a smooth 100. Best score to date but sucked it up on the back.

Avoid the big miss and shoot for the middle of the green. I like that you are rule conscious!

Just keep at it and it will happen. Just try to hit fairways and greens. I've learned just smooth steady swing. Good luck!!

I find this to be a good idea so I'll post my last round so it's in my "participated" section and I won't have to dig it up to continue along with it.

I shot an 86 on Saturday. (Columbia golf course, Minneapolis MN. Par 72, 35/37, 6489 yards, slope 129). The front 9 was the best I have ever played and I made the turn at 40 with 2 doubles and one single bogey, I parred 6 of the first 9 holes which was a great accomplishment for me, felt much better than 5 bogeys and 4 pars or any variation of that. Then on the back I collapsed and parred 1 hole, birdied another, 3 doubles, and the rest were bogies. Ball flight with the driver changed out of nowhere, and was probably a little excited to think that breaking 80 would've just been a continuation of my play for the most part.

Maybe next time..

Only played 9 yesterday but shot a 43 with two triple bogeys. No matter what course I play, or how long I play I will triple bogey at least two holes everytime. I didn't have a double bogey yesterday, the rest were pars, two bogeys and a birdie. But when I go down, I go down in flames hard. I never seem to be able to recover from a shot out-of-bounds.

5/7 Fairways
4/9 Greens
14 Putts

I play around a 15 handicap and consistency is really what's keeping me from getting any lower.

Myrtle Beach Vacation Scores (all tees around 6700-6800)

Monday : Kings North : 75
Tuesday : Willbrook : 80
Wednesday : Prestwick : 76
Today : DeBordieu Club 78

What was more fun was watching my son shoot his personal best score at DeBordieu today. He shot a smooth 73 off of the 5200 yard tees :)

Well if Mother Nature hadn't decided to ruin my day (after 2 weather forecasts said 0% chance of rain!)....I was on pace to shoot an 83. I was having my best round this year too.

2nd round of the year I came out the gate like a world beater. birdies on 1-3-6 have me on the 7th tee at 3 under . Then my game decides to just leave lol. Last 12 holes 6 bogey 1 double 5 pars and I card a 5 over 77. Very frustrating day

On a positive note my course opens up Wednesday after a rough winter and I shid b getting out there more consistently now
