Before that I wore out 3 sets Mizuno MSX over 22 years.

I've been playing the same Irons since October 2001 for the most part, Titleist 681's so NOPE, when you find a set you can hit the shots you need to with, you stick with them. switching just because never made sense to me... I went to tayormade staff for a couple years in the mid 00's and my iron play struggled for those 2 years....

Just changed my Hogans as they were totally worn out and nearly 20 years old. I got some Vega's and love them so far.

I would imagine this is the easiest segment of clubs to remain content with. Granted, there is finally another new segment with the advent of the hollow body, but I’m pretty sure that if I wanted to I could play just as well with a set of properly fit irons made five years ago as anything else.

The AP2, Apex Pro, and several from the MP line are stalwarts as far as players cavity backs are concerned which is my preferred segment.

Bridgestone J15 cb irons for the last several years and I'm not the least bit interested in anything else. Now, the 3 wood I like hasn't been invented yet.

Have had my i25's for 3 years now and can't imagine there being a huge improvement with this year's irons. They have more or less the traditional lofts so i'm sure a new 6 iron would go farther now but I'm not falling for that magic. Hit em far enough as is now that I don't need the distance help....yet

I’ve gone thru multiple iron sets in a year because I like new and shiny and I’ve played sets for a year plus.

The changes didn’t have a positive or negative effect in my scores. I get fit for my club so there’s never disappointment for me

I have irons from 2014- Nike VR Forged Pro Combo. Love the irons, and no need to switch as irons are the least important aspect of scoring imo. Not that iron play isn't important, but that I think one can adjust to most iron sets and figure them out. The tee ball and short game are most impactful to my scoring.

I've bought 3 sets of irons since getting my iblades and just cant take the iblades out of the bag. Love the look and feel.

716 T-MBs... Best irons I have ever hit, and give a blade turf interaction and look behind the ball.

I hit everything and still cannot find a better performing iron (for my game).

Didn't see any significant difference between the 716 and 718... and liked the look of the 716 better in the bag.

I’ve gamed my J40 dpc for over 5 years now, hard to kick out of my bag
  • 2_PuttBirdies2_PuttBirdies Members Posts: 58 ✭✭
Same as the poster above me - still gaming J40 DPC's since they were released and have no want or need to change. My club is a Callaway dealer so always hit their stuff when its released and walk away more than happy to go back to my old Bridgestones. For a one piece forging they're everything you could ever want in an iron plus a little more forgiving laterally on the face then they should be.
