Fujikura Tour Platforum 26.3

Recommended Posts

The Tour Platform series by Fujikura is an evolutionary combination of material, engineering and process technology designed to offer a softer tip profile with today's desired high launch, lower spin characteristics.

I for one LOVE this shaft. I have the 26.3 in my driver and the 27.3 in my 3 wood (both X flex). After a combined total of 9 shafts in both clubs over the past year, my search seems to be over. I've always been a high trajectory, high spin player, but this shaft really performs for me. I think the proper flex is key with this stick. I had an S flex 26.3 that came stock in my Sonartec 3.5, and did not like it (high and short). Put the 27.3 X flex in about two months ago and haven't looked back.

Plenty of backbone there for when I step on it, but still kicks nicely with "normal" swings without feeling whippy.

I have the 27.3 in a TourSwing 5n2 12 degree head and this combo relly seems to work for me. My swing speed is 85-95 mph and trying to be a little smoother ,really like how I can feel this shaft load up.

I put this shaft in my SQ Max driver and I love the results. Judging by the comments, I think this shaft is probably geared to a smooth swing.

the but on the sonartec shaft has the sonartec logos in place of the fuji logos. I replaced the 26.3 sonartec with 27.3 fuji's. I'll take pics of both and post them in a hour or two for you ;)

the factory sonartec 26.3 and the fuji 26.3 feel and look to be the same shaft with diff. graphics. I opted for the 27.3 for weight and the stiff feels a little stiffer for me. Hope this helps ;)

I have a 27.3 stiff in a 4 wood. Decent shaft. Fujis tend to play a little soft, and this is no exception. I really need an X to make a good review, but oh well. That being said, this shaft rewards smooth swings, like others said. If you go after it or get quick, duck hook city. Can be found very cheap on some auction site brand new

I read many say the shaft is soft but i found that if i jumped on it all i got was more distance, lol my swing speed is usually around 105 and im not smooth tempo, i think im too whippy but it is ok with this shaft for me , after reading about it i was already thinking i would be changing my shaft but not a chance so far, btw i have the 27.3 stiff flex and am working the ball nicely with it and it hasnt broke down for me so far on a hard swing

thanks

I agree that getting right flex is the key. I just an X-flex 26.3 in my driver and it is a monster. Ive used ohter x's and this one feels like a stout stiff. I also tipped it an inch because I heard that it played pretty soft.

I just had a fitting and was ready to pay big $$$$$ for a new Rmbax, but after trying all of the shafts, the Fuji 26.3 in x flex, tipped 1 inch at 44.5 has given me the best results. I was suprised when we tried this shaft, because I thought it would increase launch, but by changing to a 8.5 head and adding a heavier shaft it has brought my launch down to 13* and spin rate to 2800. This combo still has me confused, but it works. I am 100% sold on getting a good fitting when it comes to clubs.

I borrowed my friend's driver (Cal Hyper-X) to test this 26.3 shaft, have to say I was a bit disappointed as I couldn't really control the clubhead that well. It was very soft and wobly compared to other shafts, I do have to say I have a Graf Blue shaft in my driver which might be on the stiff side, but still... it didn't convince me. :russian_roulette:

First off, for reference, I have a swing speed of 105.

I bought a TM R510TP a few months ago. It has the 26.3 S-Flex on it. I found the ball flight too high - much like the R580 (w/stock shaft) I had been playing but without quite as much ballooning. I also tended to hit the ball with a stronger fade than I would like. So I wasn't a totally happy puppy despite loving the feel and sound of the head and occasionally hitting some sizeable drives. Meantime, the Grafalloy Blue (not ProLaunch) R-Flex I ordered had arrived. Set it into my Cobra 414 Comp. Long story short, it was a game improver. Lower ball flight, though not as low as I had expected, and no ballooning at all. Length improvement was good but not huge. Same for accuracy.

So I let my R510TP sit for a couple of months while I researched a shaft replacement. Recently brought it back out on the course for a few rounds after having read that a smooth swing tempo is best for this shaft. That turned out to be absolutely correct. If I can get myself to pause just a fraction of a second longer in swing transition and concentrate on a liquid club release, the results are much improved - straighter and farther. And, as others have said, I like the feel of the shaft compared to the Blue. The ball flight is still high but less ballooning than with an aggressive swing. There are courses with holes where I will want to cut a dogleg with a shot over the trees - I'll likely leave the 414 Comp / Blue at home and put the R510TP / Tour Platform in the bag. I just wish I could use my natural swing (on the aggressive side).

So now the dilemma is what to do with the Aldila NV-75 S-Flex and the Grafalloy ProLaunch Red S-Flex I snatched off of eBay. I bought the latter after reading reviews that the Aldila is pretty inconsistent.

Hi, I am trying to make a decision. I recently bought a Hibore with the fujikura tour spec 26.3 in. It feels pretty good, but I am minded to get the 652 for my Hibore XL. Then again, I am thinking it is more sensible to have the same shaft in both drivers, as the hibore is meant to be the back up to the XL.

Anyone played both shafts? Any views on difference in feel, launch? Thanks in advance.
