Taylormade hosel engraving question..

I was wondering any of you TM staffers out there know what this engraving on a 200 tour means. This particular one if from todd1100's 15* but I have the same markings on my 17*. Up until now no one can tell me the meaning of it. I know "D" stands for the "Duffy" model but need help with this one. Thanks

IMO that looks like some sort of personalization, perhaps from an electric engraver. It's definitely not a handstamp, and it doesn't look like laser engraving.

never seen that before & doesn't look like it was done by TM. i've never had any TM stuff with anything like that while i was with them, i did have a few prototype drivers that had some weird markings on them to signify the difference between the 2, but i must agree that that was done by someone for personalization.

That's too deep for an engraver isn't it? Looks like someone stamped a six and then ran an engraver inside it, why they would do that I have no idea.

ACTUALLY IT'S NOT TO DEEP FOR A ROTARY ENGRAVER. IT'S DEFINATELY NOT DONE BY A LASER EITHER.

Interesting, IMHO looks like someone tried to put their inital or a lucky number or something on it. Looks like some kind of engraver.

May i ask where you and todd1100 got them from ? I don't think Taylormade ever mass produced let alone made a lot of tour woods that were stamped with a 9 or 6 or whatever that is.

Todd's are mine. He is selling them for me. I think I got one on ebay and one on TSG. Maybe the clubs were brothers a long time ago. :tongue:

I actually found mine at Golf Galaxy....since then I have been searching for the meaning of the stamp

I am guessing it is some sort of batch number....I know I have seen irons with hand etched serial numbers that looked similar in shape to this number.
