Ping's new Glide ES wedges: shot at the 2015 U.S. Open

Anyone know when these will be available retail? I was told the eye2 type grind was coming but also notice the head shape is different than the other glide grinds.

This is it, it's not just a grind but a modern Eye2 wedge, they'll be available at retail late July - early August.

So these are basically a Glide Eye Sole? Awesome!

The Grind is also available with Titleist as a Pro Groove and has been an option with PING as a Channel Grind if I'm not mistaken.

Ok just a couple of questions. I know this grind has been around a while but how much bounce does it have? What are the advantages to playing this grind? Is it pretty versatile for just about everyone? Maybe some dumb questions here but I'm curious. Thanks!

Can someone explain the benefits in this type of sole? I've always heard in soft sand that this sole actually deflects the sand outwards so you can get more face on the ball.

But aside from sand play, what are the technical and/or simplified benefits to this sole design?

Nope. The PM looks a lot like this/it's ancestor, the Eye wedge.

Shhhhhh.. but seriously, Ping's are super hard to manipulate the grooves, the castings are very tough. I have done an Eye 2 wedge and it took me like a week to get it where I wanted it.

When the Red Tide warning is over, I'm getting one of these.....look at Razor Clams and Pins!

Will this wedge also come with the longer wedge grip that is on the current glide wedges? Was thinking about picking up the pm wedge to replace my eye2xg but I think I'll wait for this.

Are these plated like the "i" and "s" series irons or just polished to this finish?
