Best Pullover for golf?

Hey guys,

I'm on the east coast of Canada, and things can get a bit windy and cold when trying to get a round in. Currently, I'm just adding layers and long sleeve Under Armour shirt under my golf shirt. But I'd like to get a solid pull over that I can use and throw on when the winds pick up or it gets a bit colder in the evenings.

So, I've been looking at some different brands - Nike, Footjoy, Adidas, etc

Any particular model/brand that you guys like? As well, I'm 6'4" and 260 lbs

There are a thousand threads on it here but I will reiterate that the Mizuno Windlite is the t**** for cooler windy conditions. It's a fairly thick sweater so it may be warmer than what you are looking for but i love mine for colder windier days here in Ottawa.

I'm 6"6 210 and wear a large for reference.

I do the same layering with my Puma 1/4 zip pullovers - with and without the UA base layer. Nice looking tops even off the course. They fit fairly snug, so I can't wear baggy shirts underneath though. I'm 6'4", 210 athletic build and wear a Large.

+1 for the Mizuno Windlite. Perfect for the wind and temps below 50* or so with no layering needed.

I've been wearing a FJ pullover for a few seasons now. The fabric stretches the perfect amount and it breathes pretty well. The ribbing stays nice and tight if you want to push up the sleeves a bit as well.

I was at one of the local shops around here, and noticed a Adidas Golf Climawarm 1/4 zip pullover. Feels great and could be perfect for the cold evening rounds.

Mizuno windlite sweater.

No need to "layer" unless it's going to be below 40*F.

Over 60*, no matter the wind, you'll roast. They are that warm and block the wind that well.

Btw, I'm 6'5" and 250 and wear XXL in the windlite.

So far the Mizuno is the best I have found but Augster is bang on you can roast in them if the tempature rises unexpectedly...I recently picked up a cold gear 1/4 zip and layered that with a cold gear long sleeve (both UA) and they worked great without too much bulk...

For windy and cold days (55 and above), if you like vests, try the patagonia nano puff vest.

It will keep you very warm and is so lightweight at only 8.5 oz.

Works great for golfing in the wind and cold days.

Also, it is sometimes on 30% sale at backcountry.com if you want a good deal.

In my experience, Windlite keeps you very warm so it's not the most versatile for layering as temps change during the round. I wear mine when it's COLD and will stay cold the whole round.

The UA Cold Gear pullovers are more versatile. Insulating and water resistant. Not bulky.

I got a pretty great SunIce jacket I use for the wet, drizzly days, but would love something to stay a bit warmer

It is always safer to pullover than pullout.. Not sure how that relates to golf though..

I have a Adidas Climawarm+ for those chilly days in the upper 40's low 50's. I also have a ClimaHeat for the low forties days that works great with a warm compression shirt and regular golf shirt underneath.

Are you referring to the UA Cold Gear Infrared pullovers? I have two of them and while they are OK in cool weather the Windlite sweater works well in much lower temperatures.

I'm in Canada as well, the mizuno wind lite is great. I own 3 of them. Very warm, great in the wind, and if it gets warm I just put on my sun ice half wind shirt out of the bag. Highly recommend!
