Anyone try them? The outgoing model, for me was more impressive than the Duo. I haven't played the Duo spin yet.

Yes highly impressed. The first time I played them I thinned a 9 iron a bit into the green and still got the ball to back up a foot or so. I have been very impressed with the spin on approach shots with them for such an inexpensive two piece balls. I feel like the balls should be priced at least twice what they are and maybe more....

Anyone know what the differences are between this and the OG 50 elite?

I miss the original 3 piece zip. That was a nice inexpensive ball.

yes, ever since trying these on a whim where i was given a sleeve in a tourney, i fell in love. i have always been quite the ball snob and played premium stuff for years now. i fell in love with the soft feel with the irons especially. everything felt pure (not the point of not knowing if you made good contact) but there were no harsh hits. putting felt good. i just knew though that these would be short with the driver. no way such a soft ball could not lose significant distance. i was even telling myself i was ok if i only lost a few yards and i liked the feel so much. to my surprise these were as long as 80% of the balls i had been using. and they offered a yellow? yes please! that said, i dont love their yellow. i love the Srixon Z star yellow but these will do. and for $12/doz? hmm, i must be dreaming. i had usd these during the fall and winter and thought thew real test would be in hot temps. surly, these couldn't do it all? and they did. i saw no performance loss this summer using these.

i am a high ball hitter and dont get a lot of roll out with any ball. these spin enough for my liking. these really have gotten me to stop order premium used balls from online for $20ish when i can pick up a doz anywhere when i need them for $12. love that.

all that being said, im curious about the new box. is it just a new box and logo? or is it a new ball?

No the original zip was a 3 piece. The last two iterations are 2 piece and they lost a little bit of all around performance.

Just played a round with This ball yesterday. Was a very big fan of the duo and like this one even more. Just so happens I shot my personal lowest score ever. Can't say it was due to just ball as swing was just clicking. Drives were straighter, approaches stuck and putting feel was awesome. $12.99 a dozen can't be beat.

duo is a nice ball as well but 50 elite provides much better greenside spins in my experience.
with duo, i often fly the greens with short irons and wedges, literraly 10~15 yards more carry with little spin. (the same result with callaway supersoft)
however, with 50 elite, ive ever experienced the fly-over's and it stick sto green very nicely.

If you don't mind me asking, how did the distance off the driver compare between the two?

Yes, the new ones have the bigger logo with 50 very big on them. I'd prefer the look of the duo, myself. But haven't played the new 50 yet. I loved the older one with the WS logo. Not the look there either but the way it played

Not a fair comparison that day as I was playing a course I've only been to a couple times. Also just put a new driver in the bag as well.

Hey guys,

I recently purchased the new version of the 50 Elite. Additionally, I have a dozen of the old generation coming in, so I plan to run a comparison of these two balls sometime next week. I'll probably test the 2015 Duo next to them to truly get a sense of what's the best ball. All balls are yellow FWIW.

Stay tuned!

I got rid of my Jaws wedges for that exact reason G, that chewed up old ball has been getting hit my basement daily along with 2 others since November. These balls are very durable :)

Just bought some and played 18 with the new ones. Still love them. Thought about buying the Duo Spin but couldn't do it.

I am not a fan of the logo, or of the previous version on the 50 . I would prefer the the logo of the FG TOUR or duo spin on the ball but that is the only negative I have for it. I just can't believe I love a $12/doz ball so much.

I couldn't really tell a difference between new and old without any side by side comparison. Just that it's long, soft and spins enough.

I really think this ball is one of the better kept secrets in golf. I can't get over the spin you got on approach shots with it.

I totally agree, but it's not too much spin either. It's like they found the sweet spot with just the right amount :)

I really don't think the Duo can be this good? That said, so many seem to love the Duo. I can't figure out if it's because they won't subject themselves to $12 balls or if it's really that good.

Hey guys,

I told you I would get back to you with some information. Overall, there is a neglible difference in the previous generation to the current. However, I do think the updated graphics look better. Now, compared to the '15 Duo, these balls are not far off, certainly not seven dollars off. I felt that the 50Elite was a better all around performer, especially around the greens I felt had noticeably more check than the Duo. Duo was likely a little straighter off the tee.

These balls are like 6.99 a dozen on budgetgolf for the blemish model too, just a heads up as if these things could get any cheaper.
