Gatorade Alternatives on the Course

I've been looking for alternatives to gatorade for a while and I've come across a few drinks that I'd like to share with you guys and see if there are any other suggestions.

My go to drink has been Nuun. They are tablets that you drop in a bottle of water and let it dissolve for about a hole (10 minutes or so). They have plenty of electrolytes as well as Vitamin C and some have B6 and B12 to give you a slight energy kick. I've also tried Cliff's tabs that are similar to Nuun but those had a bolder taste to them.

I'm considering trying Biosteel and Amino Vital.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Note: Beer and liquor don't count. I'm talking ON COURSE SPORTS DRINKS

I use KillCliff and Fitaid.

How about water. From your tap. In a reusable bottle?

I like Propel and have been using it for many years. Gatorade is too sweet for my taste. I have also been trying Mio Fit lately with filtered water and it seems to be a good alternative.

I like coconut water. I dont care for the taste so I buy VitaCoco kids drink boxes. Keeps me well hydrated.

have you looked into Body Armor? I believe Gronk, Mike Trout and James Harden are endorsers. I tried it the other day and they use coconut water as their main ingredient. I too can't stand the actual taste of coconut water, but mixed with another flavor it's alright.

Nuun tablets from REI and water.

Depends on what you need. Electrolytes only or carbs too? Or just hydration?

My fave lately has been either VitaminWater XXX. Alternative is G2, as I find regular gatorage too sweet. Other option to reduce cost is buy gatorade and cut it with water.

I carry Advocare's 'Rehydrate' with me. Probably exactly the same as the other stuff y'all are talking about. Powder mix in with water.

I'm a huge fan of Nuun, as I try to stay away from Gatorade types as well because of the sugar and sugar crash later in the round.

Another great tab option to try, which I find seems to have a little more flavor than the Nuuns are the Elixir tabs by Camelbak. Camelbak is a cycling company and although I don't cycle, I have a buddy who is really into it and competes, and he gave me a couple tubes to try out.

They may actually be a better bang for your buck too because each tab is for 24 ounces of water? So I'd often break mine in half for my water bottle.

Bingo. It works for me. I use the 20 ounce Brita bottle that has the internal replaceable Brita water filter. With this bottle I don't worry about refilling it from on-course water jugs. They were $18 for three bottles from Amazon. Got one for my carry bag, cart bag, and my wife's bag.

I've been using Hammer Nutrition products for over 20 years for my cycling and mtn biking. Generally I use their Heed product with water, supplemented with a shot of hammer gel at the turn. In extremely hot weather I add enduralite caps to help with leg cramping - but that usually comes after my round.

Water. All the other stuff is sugar.

Emergen-C. cheap powder packets w. all kinds of flavours that you mix w. water. lots of Vit C and other good stuff...low in calories....mixes great w. vodka on the back nine

Powerade Zero grape. No sugar.

Monster Zero Ultra in one of these.

Tried the Amino Vital years ago. Tasted great, but had to order online and didn't seem that much better than some of the other stuff that was in a store close to me.

A buddy uses the Spark powder and claims it does wonders, but again, didn't affect me all that much. He claims it helps him concentrate. The time I took it, I concentrated my self to an 85... It could have been me, but either way, no more of that...

Coconut water for me, gives me the electrolytes without the sugar kick.

I actually like the taste, but not everybody feels this way (hence the various mixes with fruit juice or other things is an option).

Although I haven't tried it, I hear a lot of pro athletes like BioSteel.

Pedialyte is the best I have found so far.

Another vote for water and maybe the occasional beer.

I keep one or two in my bag and just squirt a bit every time I refill my water. I love the stuff, use it with my Soda stream all the time, I won't mix any of the other heavily sugared flavorings in either.

Pretty much keep a quarter cup of this in my bag to mix in with my water.

I buy gatoraid and cut it 50/50 with water. I would do just water but I feel my body needs some sugars to keep going in the Florida summer heat. Its amazing what some nuts and sugar does to the body when its sweating so hard. Water keeps me hydrated but doesn't quite keep me going.

Second for this and Nuun....Starting drinking pedialyte when I played beach volleyball for years and it makes you feel like a new man in the heat.
