915f 5 Wood vs. 910f 3 Wood and other FW Options

Need some help here. Earlier this year I traded in my old 910f 15* 3 wood to upgrade to the 915f. I didn't realize how the larger head size of the 915 would affect my playability from the deck....

After demoing the 915f in 16.5, I thought I had a winner. It was everything I loved about my 910 + 10-15 yards. I pulled the trigger on the 15* because it was all they had in stock, assuming I could adjust it to 16.5 if it launched too low. After a very short honeymoon phase, it's back to the drawing board. Even in A1 the club looks closed to my eye. Now I am hitting a majority of hooks off the tee and can't get it off the ground from the fairway. The larger head size is causing issues for me. When I do hit it well it's a bomber, but the inconsistency keeps me from using it in most rounds. I have benched it for another hybrid now , but I am looking for another FW option.

I took the 915f 5w (same size as the 910f) out on the course this past weekend and loved it, but not sure if it has any distance gains to my old 910. The best part of this club was that it never ballooned like the last 5 wood I had, so it wouldn't be an issue on windy days. I can't decide between trading my 15* in for the smaller 18* or picking up another 910f on eBay.

Any pro's/con's to using 5 wood over 3 wood?

Any other suggestions for smaller headed 3 woods out this year (150cc range)?

Anyone else had a similar issue with the larger 915f?

Get the 915f 16.5 and crank it down to 15.75 open face bomber BOOM!!! Game set match

I went with the 18 degree 915F and love it. (Playing it with a 3 wood length shaft.) Give the 5 wood head and 3 wood length shaft a try. Might get you a little bit more yardage.

The 915Fd is a little smaller than the F, I think similar size to the 910F.

I've been doing this with my 910's lately, 5w head on 3w shaft and visa versa. I'm thinking about a 17* 910f head now to try and split the difference

I am definitely going to try this. I loved the 18* 915F from the fairway, but I felt like I lost too much off the tee. This could be the answer. How much more distance are you getting with the longer shaft?

i get about 250 off the deck when I go after it. A little more off the tee. Not sure how much extra this is over the 5 wood length shaft. I bought the 5 wood off the BST as a demo and the shaft didn't fit me so never even gave it a try.

I am trying to keep the 915F in the bag but i can honestly say im not sure about it. Also i play 3 wood length shaft in my 5 wood as well

Do you notice any control issues going with the longer shaft? Does anyone have any experience with the distance difference? I know the length isn't much, I think .5" stock? or are you going closer to 43.5?

I actually think its easier to control! I honestly dont think it makes a big difference as far as distance goes and yes it is .5" longer then stock 5 wood length

Yup, I picked up a 910f 17* 4 wood head last night on eBay. Now to see if it works better on the 3w or 5w Shaft
