Peter Millar shirts ruined by carry bags

Title says it all, just curious if I am the only one to have noticed the issue. I have had multiple Peter Millar shirts over the past two years, and every single one is pulling and fuzzing where the straps on my Ping Hoofer sit inside my arms. No other brand of shirt has had these issue for me, and I have walked and carried my whole life. The newer shirts seem thinner and wear faster than the older E4 ones to boot. Disappointed as I like the fit of the shirts but the newest one started to get ruined after only 2 rounds. Any one else? not knocking the brand just peeved after spending $90 bucks on shirts with great course logos on them.

The straps usually make a stain on my shoulder from carrying. They usually wash out. I never had a Peter Millar shirt, but my shirts, usually cheap, don't fray until they're really worn out. In some dress shirting, the more expensive stuff is more delicate, and wears much sooner than the JC Penney, Macy's stuff.

Only thing I can think of.

Had the same thing happen to a Millar shirt and another random polo. Seemed to be similar fabrics. Had a "pull" in the fabric where the bag rubbed the shirt. Was probably a month old. Happens I guess ........

Millar shirts have smooth, comfortable materials ... can see where a bag hurts all shirts, the wear just shows up more in others.

What's the material? Chances are if it's 100% cotton, it's fine cotton which would obvioulsy wear down easily. Save the Peter Millar for the office.

It is the E4 performance fabric, which does feel pretty delicate. Don't get me wrong these were great shirts, just disappointed they wear from carrying a bag which no other shirt has done for me. The responses helped, but it was already obvious they are just too nice to put through multiple waking rounds... Real shame.

I always choose my shirts based off whether i am walking or riding. If i am walking i will take a darker colored shirt or one i dont care much about. i even have a few backups in my trunk in case i have a nice shirt on and end up at the course. I have had many shirts of all companies ruined by the straps.

I had a customer who dropped his bag with the shirt he had just bought and it was run over by a car... wanted to know if there was anything I "could do for him"

I've got an Izod shirt that does the same thing. Very noticeable since it's white with black pencil stripes. Sharp lines except where the rubbing occurs. Not just golf bag for me, it generally happens with anything that rubs on the shirt - any shoulder strap from a carry bag, backpack for laptop, even seat belts or seatbacks with woven coverings. Seems to get better with a washing, and aside from that I really like the shirt.

My takeaway is to only get cotton (or mostly cotton) shirts in solid colors. For stripes, I look for poly or poly blend.

Feel for OP though. My shirt was a clearance find for under $15, lot less than what Millars run.

If you're walking and carrying, the best bet is to wear a shirt you don't mind if it gets a few pulls in it. I've had a few of my favorite shirts ruined by shoulder straps. Nothing more annoying than that!
