What would you want in a golf umbrella?

So it's been a while since we have seen a change in golf umbrella "technology"... What would you change? or want to see changed? Lighter weight? Size? Space age materials? Just trying to gather some feedback from a seasoned crew of golfers. Thanks in advance!

I really like the "GustBuster" umbrellas that have two canopies. Makes a big difference in a storm....at least I am convinced that it does.

Some way to balance, hold the umbrella without a hand, I alway have to pinch it with my neck and shoulder.

Maybe a pouch, or a accessory holder under cover( nothing big, just to hold a glove, towel, and scorecard)

....and many have copied them too!!

Gave up using an umbrella in the rain. Doesn't keep you dry anyway and it's a pain. Goretex hat, jacket, pants and rain gloves.
Even better don't play in the rain.

i have been eyeing these umbrellas for a long time. the wind can blow a man over and the umbrella still stays in shape.

I want it to keep me dry, Not get broken in bad wind and cover me and my bag on my back. Also nice handle to hold.

As big as possible as light as possible. With double canopies as said above.

A telescoping handle. I use mine on my clicgear. I'd like to have a HUGE umbrella to keep everything around me dry. I have a 60" and I'm going to upgrade to a 70" soon. I'd like to get bigger, and longer.

Handle has to fit into clicgear, sun mountain, umbrella holders.

I don't... I've always said if it ever looks like I might need a unbrella, I'm probably staying indoors. In saying that, I'm starting to think I want to enter little competitions here and there at my club so I won't have a choice whether I go out or not if I want to compete.

I've had a look at Blunt umbrellas. Pricey (I guess for a umbrella) but they look good and solid. Without having used them on a course, I'd recommend them

good point, about once every two or three years I wish I had an umbrella in my bag...

In the end, I want durability, size and "windproofness."

A set of Mizuno MP-25s

A battery powered fan. I use my umbrella more for sun protection on hot days than for rain.

Definitely double canopy, but it has to be a quality build. I have a mediocre double canopy Mizuno Tour umbrella, and the stays are constantly popping out of the ends on windy days.

Wind flaps for sure and a big umbrella too, w a cover so it can slide right into ur bag and not take too much space

My umbrella is nothing more than a place to hang my players towel. I find it more of a nuisance to deal with. I have the gust buster type umbrella and it does the job if I use it but it really is too much of a pain to use. I have a GoreTex jacket, shorts, pants, hat and rain gloves. I really don't worry about it raining.

Yeah, umbrellas are a PITA when one is riding in a cart. Walking is a bit better, but one has to set it down, and risk having it blow down the fairway. Using the umbrella holder on a pushcart is the best option, although strong winds can easily tip over the push cart, even with a so-called gust buster umbrella.

Dry

As many have mentioned a double canopy for wind. If you use a push cart another consideration is that the handle fits into the holder. Also, I went with the largest diameter available to more fully cover my push cart. Handle sticks up a little higher relative to my irons when the umbrella is on the bag, yet it seems it never rains when I carry it.
