Spryevo Showcase

I intended to just add this post to an existing thread but the only thread dedicated to Spryevo was for the carbon-fiber inserts. The rest are posts spread around through different threads so I suppose I'll start a Spryevo thread myself.

First off, Charles is a pleasure to work with and his communication is top notch as is his craftsmanship. The putter I wanted to build was an aircraft aluminum milled insert in an Odyssey DFX 9900. I'm a 1/2 shaft or less offset guy and this B60 style head has a lot of perimeter weighting and is very forgiving. I also like a black head with one sight line on the flange, so this head fits the bill. Charles had not made one of these before and asked if I would mind sending it in so he could ensure a flush fit. I agreed and am very happy I did. He offered to refinish as well as most DFX are pretty beat up at this point but when he received it he thought it would be a shame to change this classic in such great shape.

The result is better than I could have expected.The aluminum insert adds some much needed head weight to this older putter and the feel and roll off the face now is phenomenal. I took her out for a spin this last weekend and had one of my better putting rounds in a long time. Distance control and roll were spot on. I have a bad habit of coming up 6-8 inches short on a perfect line, but that was not the case with this insert. It just felt great, soft in the sweet spot and let you know when you miss. I've never liked inserts but I loved this head and this insert makes it perfect which built my confidence as the round went on.

If you love your putter but not your insert or just need a refresh, I can't recommend this enough. Plus, it looks great and is unique. Enough of my babbling. Here's the pics, lets see what you guys out there have from inserts to refinishes!

Very cool! I have an old nubbins B11 that I'd love to putt a new insert in. It could use some head weight as well.

Top notch work. He has some unique skills and I'm sure there are quite a few on here that could use him. Does he offer copper inserts too?

Yes. He did a copper insert for my 2 ball xg

The copper adds a fair amount of head weight and along with feeling good, had one in a 3300, it made for a great counter balance experiment as the extra head weight was hidden in the face. But, counter balance was not for me.

Yeah here's a pic (bad one) of the copper. I think this is before Charles started doing milled faces so the inserts were smooth/flat. Felt great but yeah the copper added a lot of weight. I also later got an aluminum milled face insert similar to yours for my versa 1W. Charles is great to work with

OP - that looks amazing! Very glad I came across this forum when I did. Just what I needed to see.

I have an o works 3T that I’m contemplating sending in to get the milled aluminum insert done by spyrevo. I just can’t get along with the oworks microhinge insert. It feels mushy to me and I have distance control issues, but I love everything else about my putter.

anyone ever have an o works putter sent in to Charles at spyrevo to get the insert replaced with the aluminum milled?

how is it in comparison? Sound? Feel?
