Myrtle - When does it get too cold?

The wife and I are thinking about going to Myrtle this fall. When does it get too cold to play? We're not that hardcore and probably don't want it be much below low-60s / high 50s. thanks.

If you want to avoid the coldest months skip December to February, with November and March averaging low 40's to mid 60's.

I would get in before mid-November.

Even in the winter months the average high temp in Myrtle is going to be upper 50's more likely than not. But if you want it be 50* or higher when you wake up each morning, then your best bets are April through October.

I agree with other posters, you will get weeks of good temps all year. If you want consistent 50's and above skip late November till March.

This will be our 6th or 7th year in Myrtle, we always go first weekend of October. Weather is always great. Once November hits, you're rolling the dice.

This is the BEST week to play golf in the Carolinas. Always play 3 or 4 rounds a week and a few tourneys during the first few weeks of fall.

For reference I live in Myrtle. I have been here for 4 years now. I am from MAssachusetts.

It doesn't get "cold" until about Mid to Late November. Columbus Day weekend, in my opinion is the BEST weekend to come and enjoy Myrtle. It has usually started to cool off into the 60-70s and it is never crowded.

If you are talking 50-60s as your high temp for the day you can roll all the way into late November or early December. Once you get into December you can have nights/mornings in the 30's with a potential frost delay but that is pretty rare. January and February and the actual winter months. Consistent cold and frost.

We go in late Feb. every year. Last year was MISERABLE but the year before that was great. Like someone said crapshoot around that time

Always do the 2nd or 3rd week of October and it's gorgeous.

How can November be an issue when I golfer in lk ate Oct early Nov in ny area?

Technically you can golf eve.ry month of the year in the Grandstrand. That being said, the worst months(IMO and I have a place there) would be Jan and Feb. If you are traveling in and planning and paying for a trip I would definitely rule out those two months. Mid November to Jan could be a crap shoot but manageable. Although I will say living in the Carolinas some of our colder weather for some reason happens around Thanksgiving. Also after new years to March a lot of things shut down(especially in Feb). I golf in the Carolinas every month of the year.
October is awesome. April and May are awesome.
