Miyazaki B Asha wood shafts (particularly 3R)

I discovered that the Miyazaki B Asha shaft, especially the 3R, was a real great complement to my Ping K15 driver. i am currently trying to find another Miyazaki 3R shaft and having considerable difficulty finding one.

I have tried ebay, GolfWorks, Cleveland/Srixon, Dallas Golf and even several club fitters and am being told that they are not available. Dallas Golf told me that Miyazaki is only selling to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and Cleveland said they are not getting any from overseas. Does anyone have any update to this issue?

In order to have a backup, I tried to do some research on different shafts and came upon the Oban Devotion 4 Regular and decided to have that put in my back up driver. Anyone had any experience with that shaft? I have a preference for a light shaft and have tried many (with the Miyazaki B Asha 3R being the best fit). I am older with an 85 mph swing, 66 years old with a handicap of 9.

I appreciate any information or thoughts you might have.

PGASS is selling the Cleveland Altitude that has that shaft brand new for $71. Its their clearance deal. It is a great shaft.

I have a 5s but that pry wouldn't help you.

Is PGASS a member or a golf distributor? Could you give me a better explanation of this? Thanks.

Thanks KingCat. I went to their web site and looked at the Cleveland Altitude driver and it is equipped with a Matrix Radix shaft. I looked in the shafts and it did not display a Miyazaki B Asha shaft. Is it a particular store with it? Can you be more specific as to where you saw this at the PGA Superstore?

Not that this is completely helpful to you - but, the asha shafts go up to a #7. They get stiffer and heavier and the number gets higher. There are variations over the last several years at Cleveland Golf. So if one pulls up the shaft catalogue one will find that it provides the specs on the torque, bend-point and weight of the shaft. If one looks up these specs of a shaft that is working well. It is possible to find a shaft that is very similar to the specifications that are built into the asha shafts - and can be replaced on that basis. It provides more opportunities to get the type of shaft that does the job of the original one.

There are several shaft much better than the B. Asha. the B. Asha creates a high amount of spin for me, as well as a higher launch. One great shaft is a Oban Purple 45, 3 or 4, Oban Black 55 03 or 04, little more butt stiff but good feel, Paderson Blue 55 R, Super Feel - UST 5 Attas 5 GoGo 5R. Let me know if need any info on these shafts... I have all of them.

I apologize. I was wrong. Its not the altitude. Its the Cleveland Classic XL driver. It comes stock with Miyazaki B Asha. I purchased one from the PGA super store for $71 3 weeks ago, and they are still on clearance. I hope that helps.
