ZJ still rocks the Oakley Fast Jackets

Recommended Posts

I love that he still rocks his Fast Jackets. I've seen him in Flaks a couple times but he is pretty committed to the fast jackets. I wonder if him and maybe some other fans could make a difference in them bringing them back on some limited inventory. Maybe they make black and white frames only with a few options on lenses. Maybe limited stock releases on new lenses. Come on Oakley!

flak 2.0s are far lighter and to me a good upgrade...

I agree. I really liked my Fast Jackets over the first gen Flak Jacket. the new Flak 2.0 are a huge upgrade as far as lens options, fit, comfort and looks. they're really comfortable and light. love them.

Still my favorite Oakley's, have two pair of fast jackets with a couple different lense combinations. The flak 2.0 are really nice maybe a pair of prizms in my future..
yeah, I have two pairs as well. As long as they keep offering lenses I will keep using them.

Obviously ZJ can have his choice of Oaks and he goes with the fasts on the regular. I would think he is one of the most visible Oakley guys that actually wears the glasses (Bubba does not). How is he out there wearing fasts with VR28 BI today when they have brand new Flaks and prizms out now? It's saying something...

I seem to be in the minority, but I feel like the original Flaks fit better and were lighter. Didn't weigh them, but the 2.0 with XL lenses seemed heavier than the orig with XLJ. Part of that could be that they didn't fit well so more weight was on the nose vs the ear sock. Fit is very subjective based on head shape/size but I still love the OG.

The Fasts were also too wide for me. If they did a Flak 1.0 with the lens change mechanism of the radar lock I'd be happy. Even though it only takes a few minutes to change lenses, fast jackets/radar locks are where it is at.

the lighter and skinner arms is what I feel it a ton better on the Flak 2.0. they fit my head a lot better and I don't have to adjust them as much as I would when I had the Flak Jackets and Fast Jackets. The Fast don't have near the grip or comfort the Flak 2.0 do. they're really great frames. I didn't care for the 1.0 lens shape after going with the Fast Jackets. then I liked the lens options of the Flak 2.0 over the Fast Jackets. But you're right, they all fit everyone different. Just my preference.

Have they made prizm lenses for the Fast Jackets yet?
no, don't see them offering them for the Fast Jackets either. with them being fazed out and only in a custom option, I doubt even any new lenses will be available.

I definitely would take the 2.0 over fast jackets, I could live with the 2.0 if the lenses were a bit smaller.
