Spokane & Coeur d'Alene area - Tell me about it!

Looking at a possible job relocation to the Spokane and Coeur d'Alene area. Looking for infomation regarding golf, best areas to live, best schools, things to do, etc. Also any advantages to living on the Idaho side vs. the Washington side in regards to taxes and schools?

Yes, I am coming from Southern California but originally a native of Utah and can easily adjust to a 4 season climate. Just tired of SoCal high cost of living, traffic, etc.

Appreciate any input!

For the muni golf crowd, the city and county courses are pretty good and significantly more affordable than what you're probably used to. The best golf in the area is private (Black Rock & Gozzer in CDA top my list), but there are some good higher end public tracks too. Circling Raven is highly underrated and tons of fun to play. CDA Resort is nice and always well-conditioned, but it's very much a resort course. Manito and Spokane CC are both nice. SCC is dealing with some uncertainty in their future.

We have family that live on the South Hill near Manito. I prefer that area. Just a preference.
