Phil's custom lead tape job on his Odyssey putter at 2015 BMW Championship

Makes it look like he used electrical tape to keep the head attached.

You would think for a player like Phil there would be a more elegant way to accommodate that weighting. That being said, I like it.

All the technology in the world at his disposal and this is what he does.

Why add the tape to the hosel? To help rotate the face more?

Solid milled face on that putter too, no Metal X Milled grooves. Wonder why?

He must have gotten some lead stuck on the face from the results that putter has had.

He's the same guy that used a stock PING Anser 17 degree hybrid at The Open instead of the 1-off prototype hybrid Callaway made for him. He is not afraid to do whatever he thinks will work.

You're right, that actually looks like electrical tape for the black Versa line, at least the part closer to the heel.

It is a odyssey 9ht with extra offset. Scotty does not have a high toe version. He has had that putter for a while now, the lead tape is new.

It wasn't that long ago that everybody's bag was full of clubs with lead tape on them. Most tour players did a lot of tinkering themselves. Not so much anymore.

The guys on the Tour truck don't work on Phil's clubs. All done at the Callaway plant in Carlsbad (or his house).

The Del Mar has different bumpers. Looks like a Metal X Milled 9 with a versa paint job and different face milling

That face milling looks way better than the metal x facing milling

That's a first. Never seen lead tape used that way.

Dozens of guys going to be wrapping tape around the hosel tomorrow morning.
