Longer Golf Socks

I'm playing in a US 4 ball qualifier here shortly and the course doesn't allow ankle or no show socks. Well I'm a no show sock guy. Anyone know the best longer socks for golf? Something light and breathable is my preference.

Try Belaga - very soft in the ankle socks i have. They have low on the calf socks

I would not play such a course.....ever! Is Arnold Palmer in charge of the dress code? I suggest a wardrobe selection from the Al Czervik closet.

No usually it's the other way around. Most clubs won't let you wear socks longer than ankle height (for good, good, good reason, IMO). Outisde of medical conditions of course.

I can't believe any club would regulate the length of flipping socks.

Reason #187 not to join a golf club.

I think long socks look great with pants.

Hard to believe that any club cares what length socks someone wears. You'd think they would have more serious
things to worry about.

Yeah, I am not sure I understand the rule either. But again, it's a US four ball qualifier so I think I'll get over it and follow their rules.

The only long socks I own are dress socks lol. I guess I'll just buy some nike socks or something. I'm not sure if the course prefers white only or what.

Are you playing in the UK? I know a lot of clubs there require pants or long socks.

A friend told me when he played the Old Course in St Andrews he had to purchase socks in the clubhouse because they wouldn't let him out with his ankle socks.

Sounds like a Red Hot Chili Pepper-type celebration on the 18th is in order.

This entire thread just goes to show you how completely arbitrary dress codes are. One course requires long socks another course forbids long socks. One course requires ankle socks another course forbids ankle socks.

All courses should give a rat's behind what kind of socks you wear.

I'd wear pants (and long socks).

I don't think I'd feel comfortable wearing shorts, golf shoes, and socks up my calf.....

I say nutt hugger shorts, knee high socks and these bad boys!

why stop at knee high, if you are wearing nutt huggers, go for thigh highs!

1/4 length running socks are the answer, think its the best look with shorts anyway, find the full on ankle socks with the tiny bit poking out the top a bit awkward

Wear pants if you arent comfortable. Footjoy has some comfortable/inexpensive socks

WOW...that is definitely interesting. I have noticed that many of the pros, who have to wear pants, still wear no-show socks.
If I had to wear something other than ankle or no shows, I definitely would not wear shorts, would wear my normal slacks with regular crew socks that I wear to work.
My golf group is brutal about guys wearing shorts with longish socks. You would get ribbed something terrible if you were to show up looking like that.

For light and breathable, you can't beat Swiftwick

I find this to be odd. Shorts with crew socks is currently a trendy west coast look. Are you certain the club isn't requiring pants?

Me too. Long socks are for old blokes and hackers. I wear ankle socks only with shorts.

Yeah, shorts with long(er) socks would get teased off the course and ridiculed for a long time.
