Hacker sticks...current edition - 3 yr update, full Srixon fanboy!

Been a few years since I updated my "whats in the bag".

Hovered around a 4.5 this season, and most of my issues surrounded the flatstick, so these should remain for a while.

Only "recent" addition is the Cally X-tour forged 2 iron that I picked up at Play it Again in Orlando for next to nothing, and that stick is BADDASS!

Went full Srixon fanboy for next season. Played 5 rounds with the irons so far and had my 2nd hole in one during the 2nd round. The irons have solidified a spot. The driver and putter positions are revolving doors and are never safe. If you haven't tried Srixons new fwys, do yourself a favor and give 'em a hit, they are solid!

How did you work around the distance gaps with the irons?

585 7i must go miles further than the 785 8i if you dont change the lofts somehow.

I actually didn't find a huge discrepancy when I was testing, there was a few yards between the 585 and 785 but I think it's manageable. I've got about a 12 yard gap between a hard 8 and a smooth 7...assuming I hit the middle of the club face. The biggest difference for me is on off center hits, the 585s are so much less punishing. A 7 iron isn't really a scoring club for where I am attacking a pin and I'm just trying to hit the correct side of the green with one in hand. I'm pin hunting with an 8, so that's where I decided to make the split. If i'm at that weird yardage I just have to either swing a touch harder or back off of one a little. But like I mentioned, the distance gap between the 2 isn't that huge on well struck shots.

Gonna give the 785 a go with the Black Mamba :)
