Best all around golf shoes

Recommended Posts

Ok, I must admit, I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to shoes, especially golf shoes. It’s definitely a hobby of mine to say the least. Anyway, in moment of boredom I came up with a list of what I think are the best golf shoes on the market, factoring in style, comfort, breathability, waterproof, traction, support/stability and value/price. I obviously haven’t been lucky enough to play in all these shoes, but I think it’s a pretty good list based on customer feedback and personal experience. Anyway, let me now what you think!

1) Puma TitanTour

2) FootJoy DryJoys Tour

3) Callaway Xfer Pro

4) Adidas Pure 360 LTD

5) Puma BioDrive

6) Skechers Go Golf Blade

7) Nike Lunar Control 3

8) Adidas Tour360 X

9) Nike TW '15

10) Adidas Adipower Sport Boost

I have 2 pairs of the FJ Sport with Boa lacing and love them, I recently purchased the Adidias Adipower sport Boost shoes and I have to say they are my new favorite golf shoe, very comfortable, boost tech is awesome (I have the Ultraboost running shoes, best running shoe I have ever owned) so it is not a surprise that they feel so nice while waalking the course and very grippy as well...but it is really up to preference, some prefer firmer shoes others softer shoes, just use what feels great to you...

I have a pair of the Hyperflex from FJ I just picked up and I am loving them. I have been in some light rain/after rain rounds and they seem to be pretty good with water. They are very comfortable and one of the best for traction I have used. I know its not on your list but I am impressed with them, and I like the look.

I almost included these as I've heard a lot of good things. I wasn't sure if they were as waterproof as some other FJ models so it's good to hear some feedback

I am not as much of an afficianado, but I typically look for performance and comfort at a reasonable price, even if high, although I find a sale or promo codes for the expensive shoes. I tend to enjoy shoes without much cushion in order to feel the ground more.

I like

Ecco Biom Lace for comfort and performance
Ecco Biom Hybrid 2 (The Lace fit more true to size, and I went up in size for the Hybrid 2)
True Linkswear Proto with a thin custom insert (because of wide forefoot, my toes bang into each other, so an insert is needed)

Just picked up a pair of Adidas Asym Energy, and the narrow last had me go to a full increase in size - comfy on grass, the sole is different for each foot for added performance.

First and foremost find a shoe that fits your foot. All the features in the world won't help an ill fitting shoe, and everyone's feet are different.

I don't think I've ever heard one bad thing about the DryJoys Tour!

While I love the fit of Countours, DryJoys Tours have always been too narrow for me (there's your first bad thing about them :-) ).

Completely agree! Every foot is different, so naturally different shoes fit better for different people. Just curious, were your DryJoys Tour the regular or wide option?

For me I think the DNA are the best I have worn to date. I have a long narrow foot so sizing for me can be weird but this fit me in both length and width. The insole is close to an expensive after market insole and they are super durable. Will be getting a pair of Lunar Controls in the near future but for now its the DNA.

I've never actually owned a pair of them. Just tried them on. Didn't try the wide on, but that was because the heel of the regular was good on my foot - not at all snug, so very likely wide was not going to work well. Owned some DryJoys a few years back, that felt ok in the quick try on in the store but through play became painful. But since then I'll usually try them on every time a redesign comes out since I've noticed some companies will tweak the last that they use.

For example for the longest time I didn't even have to tighten any adidas shoes and I'd know they weren't going to work. Then one day I tried on some Tour360s and it was a "where have YOU been?" moment.
