Srixon 945 vs Apex MB vs 716MB

Thinking about getting one of these sets. Has anybody tried them all? Which one would you choose and why? What about "forgiveness", feel and distance. From what i´ve read i think the srixon and callaway are way softer, more forgiving and have better distance than the titleist. Nevertheless i really like the new "680" design of the 716s. Is the v sole of the srixons so an outstanding factor?

thx

This would be the definition of win/win/win. They all have a slightly different look. The biggest difference is the sole. Apex MB has the most bounce. The 716 has the lowest amount of bounce. The Srixon, as a result of the V Sole, plays in between. They're all great.

Titleist TSR2 15* & 21* w/ GD UB-7,8 (S)
Titleist u505 22* w/ Atmos Blue HB 85 (S)
Titleist T200/150 5-PW w/ Steelfiber i110 (S)
Vokey SM8 50*, 55*, 60* w/ S300

I thought the srixons had a massive amount of bounce as a result of the v-sole - like 17*. Is that not correct?

That's just the front part of the sole. Because on the 945s that part is fairly narrow, the effective bounce is nowhere near the stated number. They certainly aren't diggy, but they (imo) play with lower effective bounce than the Apex.

Interesting. I'm a big time digger and have had the 945s on the radar as a result. I'll keep them on the short list, but should probably add the Apex's, no?

I can't speak for the Apex, but the 945's and 716's are very different in feel. I found the 945 super soft to the point of being numb/vague. I found the 716 much harder than I like (caveat: lie angle is way too upright for me). Miura and maybe a touch softer is my sweet spot.

I'd add the Brudgestone J15 and Cobra King Ltd into that mix if it must be USDM or Masda MB if you're willing to go JDM. And Mizzy should be in any blades discussion IMO, though I've never owned a set.

Yep. Your mileage may vary, of course, but they're both worthy of your time.

I can't really say for the Z945 irons, as I've never hit them. But I've got the Callaway RAZR X MB's, the predecessor of the Apex MB's, and I have to say when hit out of the middle, they feel very soft. I don't remember any Titleist MB Forged irons feeling as soft as my Callaway RAZR X MB's, they sound a little bit clickier, from what I remember.
