Rickie Fowler's Cobra King 3 iron: shot at 2015 Hero World Challenge

Interesting concept. I guess it beats having to reshaft whenever you want a different shaft, but since he's playing it at 19.5 (stamped) I guess there's the convenience of loft/lie adjustments as well.

Looks like he's going back to his old shafts from a few years ago when he was using Adams hybrids. Unless he never switched away from those to begin with.

That looks awesome! Assuming the adjustment screw is covered by the dark grey cap below the hosel? I wonder how difficult that would be to pop off or if it would pop off.

Also, I noticed the plug in the toe, which is presumably tungsten. Isn't the point of that to manipulate/move CG closer to the toe/center of the face due to the weight of the hosel compared to the to. If so, wouldn't the hollow hosel presumably manipulate that or are the adjustable hosels heavier/same weight as a filled in hosel?

does he have tattoos on his right index finger (arrow), outside right wrist (F) and around his left wrist (script) ? never saw that before

I don't see a grey cap, just a hole to where the screw is. Unless you're referring to something else.

I've noticed my T-MB's have the black plug on the toe like this 3 iron. Is that hole for possible hotmelting? Is there some sort of composite that fills the inside channel?

Interesting concept for sure. Cobra keeps on bringing it lately!

Yep good catch, that's my bad. The 6th pic from the top at that angle looks like there is some sort of cap it's just the discoloration of the hole compared to the sole that's throwing my eye off.

I really, really hope this is coming to retail but I never saw anything in the 2016 catalog. Hopefully we awesome thing at the PGA merchandise show

He has his first coach's signature tattooed on his wrist.

It because the club is hollow club and this keeps things from getting inside.

Two things
1. The hole on the toe of the club isn't to keep things out of the club they could just make the club one solid piece .
Most hollow irons need something inside them to add weight and dampen sound so they don't sound weird .
2. Awesome looking club with adjustability ! I love the idea of driving iron type clubs but they just don't beat regular hybrids as far as ease of use for me . Some of you wrx' with the 130 mph driver swing speed can make the most of these .

Guess I'm out. I can only swing 105 and the result of that is a golf ball landing in Egypt.

Please God release these! I've been looking for a good replacement of my S3 Pro 3/4 irons. This looks perfect. Crazy that no one has done an adjustable DI yet. Kudos Cobra.

From the top, it looks fairly similar to the Mizuno MP-H4 long irons.

I haven't had this reaction to a club in a while. Cobra is bringing it these days.

Wow, the look of a iron, adjustability and no FAT head ala hybrids...can't wait for Cobra to bring this to market, gotta seriously look at this - if they release one with the 16* head stock.

I forsee a driving iron change in my future

Irons usually increase/decrease loft by bending the hosel.
