Coal For XMas...Bent X100's from EBay..Can they be fixed?

So I ordered some really cheap DGX100 4-PW shaft pulls for a really good price on EBay that I couldn't pass up. This was my first attempt at club making so I figured I couldn't go wrong with these on my old Nike set. Unwrapped them on Christmas and found this....

Half appeared to get bent during shipping.... Question is can I fix these? The condition of the rest of the shafts isn't great so I don't want to buy 3-4 shafts in replacement.

Not easily. Get your money back if you still can. Unless they were packed really terribly there is no way those should bend during shipping. I would check the original listing to make sure they weren't bent from the start.

They’re done. Most likely they were bent by the clown who pulled them. You should get a full refund - they won’t be playable.

Ya this is what I kind of expected to hear. I though about heating them up and trying to bend them back or rolling them but it will def compromise the shaft.

Unfortunately I ordered them before Christmas and wrapped them so I didn't know they were bent until 30 days after I received them so the seller is refusing to refund them. They were packaged well with bubble wrap and paper so I'm not sure I can blame the seller. The shafts were facing 2 different directions so I think during shipping half of them were bent. The seller said they were pulled at a PGA superstore so it makes me wonder if they bent them while pulling. Wouldn't put it past a savage doing a rush job on an old set. Guess we'll never know.

Live and learn I'm going to use the 4 that aren't bent to practice my club making and look for a new set of shafts. Def from WRX this time don't trust Ebay anymore.

You have 180 days to file a dispute. I would go ahead and file a dispute. Ebay most always sides with the buyer. I understand how the seller feels but if you are on the up and up there is no reason you shouldn't file. By the way they look I'm thinking it was done when they were pulled.

No way those were bent during shipping. Those are just careless pulls. Doesn't surprise me one bit it happened at a big box store.

Good to know I have already surpassed the 30 seller window but I put in the refund request with EBay and we'll see I also added these pictures that will make all you you squirm. These poor shafts were just butchered by a savage with no soul....

Kind of have a feeling none of that was in the ebay ad or disclosed in the description?

Yuk. From everything I have read, Ebay/Paypal almost always sides with the buyer in disputes. I think all the OP would have to do is send them the photos he posted to get his refund.

If all of that was not disclosed in the description, 30 days doesn't mean sh*t. Contact ebay with the original description and the pics you are showing us. All will be well. And make sure to give the seller his due on the Feedback.!!

I filled a return request with the pictures attached and the seller declined it a couple hours later. What are my options? Do I just call EBay or is there a way to send them an email with the pictures of the damaged product.?

Just called Ebay they will only cover returns in 30 days. So the seller declined it and there's nothing they can do. She recommended I call PayPal and file the dispute they have a longer dispute period of 120 days.

Put in a PayPal claim now I'll wait to see what this guys says... and I checked back the original listing as "Excellent Condition" what a joke!

First i would definitely give this person a bad feedback. Good sellers should be willing to say no problem lets fix this issue. I hope your paypal claim goes through in your favor.

What a hack job. I doubt they were bent from pulling. I see bends like that a lot just due to regular use. We've got a strip of artificial turf at the back of our range for when the grass is closed and I've done that to a few of my iron shafts by hitting off the turf.

Nonetheless that is terrible of the seller to sell those period. I wouldn't even sell those with full disclosure etc. If those passed through my shop they would go directly to the scrap heap.

[/quote]Thats a good point they may have also been bent from use on mats they are not new by any means but I think he saw it and positioned them in the picture to all look straight in the listing.

With little faith that I will be getting a full refund from my claim with PayPal I set out to make the best of it and salvage this dumpster fire of a purchase... Here is what I did with the shafts...

4 - Trimmed the bent tip to specs and will play as a 6i
5 - Trimmed the bent tip to specs and will play as an 8i
6 - Trash, tipped and cut them to play as Wedge shafts if needed.
7 - Was one of the few good ones.

9 - Not great but playable tip with a mangled extension that I had to but cut anyway.
P - Was one of the few good ones

So now I have all my irons installed with playable X100's just need to find something new for the 4 and 5 iron. If I can't get lucky on WRX may just buy two X100's for the long irons.

...And if I do win my dispute then, well that seller will get back an interesting new bundle of iron shafts hahaha. Well deserved after trying to pass those off as "Excellent Condition."

yeah, I'm not sure you can win a dispute if you have already messed with those shafts. They are required to be returned to the seller in order to satisfy the claim, IIRC.

[/quote]My defense is the grips had to be removed in order to discover how truly damaged they were and if someone considers those in excellent condition doubt he'd even notice they were trimmed. His Ebay posting are full of old clubs and garbage. Either way I didn't break the bank and got 6-LW X100 shafts for pretty cheap money for my first ever build project.
