R5 Tour / R7 tour / Clev Comp Comparison Pics!!!

Recommended Posts

Alright. I have been hitting my drives a Ton with my Cleveland Comp 10.5 head. I have been killing it so much that I went out and acquired an R5 tour 10.5* head. Why? I am a sick man. I will tool it up and see what happens. Here are some pics of the head still in the wrap with the R7 and the Comp.

From Left to Right

1. R5, Comp, R7 Faces

2. R5, R7 Tops

3. R5, Comp

4. Tour label on R5 tour

5. R5, R7, 510df tour faces

Okay, here's my take having played all of them (tour issue)... The R7 is versatile with the 4 screws-- it really works; however heel and thin shots not very foregiving... the R5 is more foregiving, but really has high trajectory... little easier to turn over-- but damn is it loud... I foamed mine and it lowered the ballflight about 1 degree and really made it MUCH better... Comp is nice looking (maybe best looking 460cc) and if you find the right one can be very solid... its also long with more roll than TMs... Comp just hangs in the air, and then takes off like a rabbit on the ground. So which am I playing... none, I have the Nike Tour 410 (can't believe I'd ever say it) that looks great and is SOOOOO solid and surprsingly foregiving... fiddling with the Nike 460 Tour and 460 Comp (higher loft) but can't find one that doesn't sound and feel like a tin can... so its the 410 for now... stay tuned!!

Great pics easyyy.

The COMP is really a nice driver. The R5 has the same launch characteristics and the distinctive TM looks. IMHFO it is even better looking than the COMP which is saying a lot.

Looking forward to your review after Joey gets it dailed in for you.

Total threadjack but I have been working with the original R7, R7 shallow, R5 and COMP.

I'll put together a comprehensive review soon. I can tell you all these clubs are excellent and the R7 shallow is the sleeper of the group so far.

for more spin and higher trajectory with a nice solid feel, yeah the R7 SF is nice... for the best looks and longest, the Comp Tour... for the most foregiving and pretty long then its the R5 dual ... with a pro foam job the R5 dual is hard to beat... hmmm the true ho in me says maybe I need a Comp Tour with a foam job.... guess I'll give a ring and see how busy JK is.... :busted_cop: ;) :vava:

OMG! I'm in trouble now! :busted_cop: :ok:

I played 27 holes today and the last 9 holes we made it more interesting by playing w/ ODD number club only (iron) , driver and we can only put w/ LW or SW. I won't a big dinner by sinking a 5 footer for a birdie. The last 9 holes was more fun than the first 18. LOL!

Thanks for the pics easy - very interesting thread. I'd love to hear some more comparison info. I've been hitting my Comp good but I'm interested in exploring what else is out there now that we are getting into winter :tongue:

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
