Spikes vs spikeless and a good wide shoe.

Deciding on spikes or spikeless how is the traction. I am also looking for wide shoesm. I tried addidas they were too small. Tryes greenjoys that were white and brown that fit great but just really ugly. Usually wear 11 1/2 to 12 on street shoes in new balance , sketches , and some addidas. Sometimes i need wide sometimes i dont. Im noticing golf shoes a little more narrow due to material

Depends on your conditions. If you have lush, soft ground where you are i'd recommend spikes. Here in texas the ground can get VERY hard when the grass is dormant so you can get away with spikeless or tennis shoes if you really want. I played chambers bay in Nike Free tennis shoes and they have almost no traction and i had no issues what so ever.

For a wide foot, it's hard to beat FJ. However, their color schemes have gotten a bit strange lately. They still have some good athletic looking ones though.

Wood wise I use Pledge.

If you wear your shoes to the course, spikeless. If you change your shoes in the clubhouse, spiked.

If you've had success with Skechers and New Balance off of the course, I'd start there for your on-course options.

I have tried allot of shoes with and without spikes. After getting the DNA's and their gripping power, no desire to go back to slipping etc. A bit much to clean after every round but, has actually helped my stability and ball striking as I feel I have great stability. I wouldn't mind trying the Lunar 3's now there price has dropped.

I've got two pairs of TW 14's in wide. Adidas are impossible to wear with a wide foot.

Strange, everyone I have known or talked with, and myself have felt Nikes run slim. Growing up I could never wear them because they didnt fit my wide foot, even to this day I cant really wear them. Adidas on the otherhand have always been a better fit for me, then and even now on the course.

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

Hmm maybe it's based on which part of your foot is wide? I need the wide toe box. The TW 14's in wide have been a godsend for me. Adidas really get slim in the toe box. Do you need the width farther back on your foot?

I wear size 14, and usually stay away from any Nike products (basketball, golf, etc). I just find they're really narrow. I'm looking at a pair of Adidas Adicross right now - Adidas is my go to brand for basketball, so I'm checking out golf too

For me, adidas golf have always been the narrowest, which is perfect for me. Nice and snug.

Nike running and Jordan basketball have fit me the best, yet their golf shoes are totally different! Big wide toe boxes that have my feet swimming. Thus for golf I'm all team adidas.

Maybe he has a high volume arch? Nike and adidas often lock down your foot in the vamp and heel, as they are performance lasts. For big volume, Footjoy is the way to go. To me they feel like I put the shoe box on my foot instead of the shoe.
