WHY NOW!!!!!

I love the 64, hate the crappy chrome on it. I tired the 60 and 56 and found them to not be as good from 40+ yards as I would like

And callaway has ZERO forged wedges on their website currently. I hope that is only temporary.

What's wrong with that? The top wedges on tour and at retail (Vokey) are cast.

Well, my issue with Callaway stuff right now is the finish. And I have a full Callaway bag, but it seems like Apple-esque "planned obsolence" to me.

X-forged (07, 09, Razr, MB) irons in satin used to wear beautifully. So did both their raw and satin forged wedges. I gotta pick up some slate tour grinds while they are available. Apex's look terrible after a season, and so did my PM grind wedge, such a terrible finish on it. They need to get rid of that "Frosted" finish that looks great on the shelf, and terrible and shiny (not in a good way) once you use it. But like I said, it makes you buy the new ones cause your set from last year looks brutal. I barely used my PM grind and had browning on the sole, which has never happened to me with Vokeys or anything, and I've used my Wedgeworks set for 4 seasons now.

Just something makes me bitter about jacking up the price on their clubs now, when their old forged irons and wedges were cheaper and didn't wear like crap.

So to answer your question, feel is not a problem with cast wedges, but Callaway's forged wedges were much better to me than this new crop. That and their clubs tend to be too light nowadays and they don't seem to care about tending to swingweight anymore.

The black finish looks beautiful, and I have yet to hear one person say a bad thing about the PM grind. I may have to try this guy out in a 58.

I need to bend my wedges and my local guy won't bend cast. I'm not gonna spend an hour on the road to go somewhere that will bend cast. Can't use local GS because they have incompetent staff and the store manager is an A**. Hence, I prefer a forged wedge.

Why on earth wouldbt they bend them ? If I'm not mistaken they are 8620 which is softer than a lot of forged wedges anyway. My 56 pm grind is bent to 53. No issues. It's been bent to 57 then to 55 then on to 53. And it bends easy.

Edit. / for what it's worth I agree with you and wish too they made it in a 52. I would bend that to 51 and go 51 56 62 bent to 61. I like to bend forward to reduce bounce a touch if I'm bending a wedge.

Can't you order it straight from Callaway on their site and have them bend it?

You can remove the finish very easily with CLR. I already did it with my MD3s and they came out great. Gives you that great raw look. My bet is that CAST wedges are here to stay. So much cheaper to mass produce.

Sounds like you need to find a new guy. These things are super easy to bend. As are all Vokeys and the MD3 line as well. Even Clevelands are pretty bendable, just not as easy as the others.
