Unless I was flipping them, I'm not sure that would've stopped me from wearing them...

I get what you're saying though. Spend all this money and we want them perfect. But they're going to get dirty and as you clean them, the glue residue would probably be cleaned off too.

I'm not worried about them getting dirty. At the end of each toe box it looks like the material will give away from the shoe easily upon use. The excess glue there is already cracking and I only walked around them in my office for a few min. Like I said, they are going back so it is a moot point.

You may not want it, but having dealt with Nike on something similar (off white Jordan 1's) I have some advice. The Off Whites are much more rare and I was pretty pissed. On top of the glue stain on the shoes, the box looked like it was dropped off the second story. If you keep a good tone with them, they may give you another 10%-20% off. After trying to locate me another pair for 2 weeks, they ended up giving me 50% off. Some of those folks are jerks, but if you work through it they'll normally come down. In that instance, you're getting a **** of a deal. The way these shoes are made now, this crap is happening more and more.

Also, you can resell them. Be honest about the glue marks and you can still make a decent profit. Also, you make a profit and somebody that is dying for them will get them. Best of both worlds.

Agree with you. I actually got an email late last night from one of the Elite Team Specialists informing me she found another pair in my size and has them on her desk. She sent me an overnight label to return the ones I have and will resend the new ones overnight back to me at no charge. She said the new pair look great and with no issues. We shall see upon receipt. But this was the 3rd different "Specialist" that I dealt with. Clearly she was one of the good ones that understands what good customer service is all about. The other two were useless and flat out rude like you mentioned with your experience.

I would hate to have to deal with you on anything commodity related. I bet you're the type of person to return groceries

Ok whatever you say.... u got me figured out perfectly. Are you feeling bad about yourself that you needed to try to come in the thread and insult someone you don't even know? Good talk.

    To each his own.

Personally I'm not worried at all about what other people notice or don't notice on my shoes. I like my new gear (especially limited run stuff that's more difficult to get) to look like new gear - to me. I'll be the one to dirty them up and maintain them from there. I want them looking fresh out of the box, that's for sure. I'd feel the same way if they were LV gators or a $35 pair from Joe's New Balance; it's the principal of the thing.

Exactly! Regardless of the cost of an item it shouldn't come in new with defects. For what was spent on the shoes no customer should have to take the time to get acetone and try to remove glue from a poorly made product. This guy would be the first one bitching if he spent money on something and it didn't come in as expected/advertised yet somehow I'm the bad guy. People never cease to amaze me. Thx Toga for the support.

Crazy thread. I’m glad you’re (likely) getting a new pair that actually looks new.

What others on the hate side seem to discount is what about flip value? You get the shoes intending to flip them. Then they look like the ones you got. Good luck on that flip. Make sure to take blurry pictures. image/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

If a pair of my J’s, golf or otherwise, came looking like that, I’d be just as pissed as you were. Anyone saying otherwise, IMO, is just playing devils advocate for the fun of it.

Got my blues out on the course last week. Nothing but positive marks from me. Super comfortable and great traction. I have been playing Nike spikeless lately and if it’s an early tee time my feet would slide on the first tee. Not a problem in these. I put these up there in my favorites with the tw13

Started this project months ago but after starting a new position with a new company I’ve been limited on my free time...

Due to having limited time I rushed the project and messed up one shoe. It’s possible to repair it but i just bit the bullet and bought a new pair of concords to try again.. they should be here this week... the Columbia’s however would of been a sick colorway to have but I’m going to swap the other shoe and see how good it turns out.. if it turns out nice I’ll try to repair the other shoe. The donor pair took me 15 mins to take the soles off.. the XIs on the other hand... sheesh...

Man that is going to look sick. How many man hours did it take to get to that point? Not sure i have the time nor patience to handle a project like that. Hopefully Jb releases them soon.

    Way too long lol.

So I started on the other shoe in the summer, and I rush it. Not realizing it, I took the stitching out of the bottom of the upper that I should not of, and now I've got to stitch it back together.

I started on the other shoe that is pictured and took my time. A lot of Acetone, and heat. All in all on this shoe, probably 4-5 hours. Including scraping almost 99% of the old glue from the donor sole. Good grief Nike puts on a lot of glue. Ill finish painting the cleat in the next day or two, then work on gluing them together.

The upper mesh will need to be cleaned and if its not as clean as I want it to be, ill paint the upper mesh. (somehow during the storage in the garage, it got a stain in two spots. have not idea how it happened.)

I have a brand new pair of the concord low cleats that I am thinking about trying, but I may just hold off until January and send them to GOVRN. (They said they will resume taking spots for Golf Hybrids sometime in January.. Ill say this.. The $95 or how much every they charge is a dang good deal.

Still some painting / cleaning / adjusting to do but wanted to see how they look so far. They will sit flush when they are glued. So far I’m very happy with the results.

I ended up sending mine back to nike for this exact reason, very different from my other ST’s which are the best shoes I own.
