Interlock Grip Pinky Pain

I started using an interlocking grip and the club feels much better in my hands but I am noticing my right pinky hurts and the knuckle is visibly a little swollen. Any idea what I am doing wrong? Club feels so much better but I am clearly jarring my pinky somehow.

I used to interlock. My hands would ache, several blisters, swollen right hand pinky finger, strange 'bend' (reverse C) in my pinky finger. I switched to a 10-finger grip. no interlock or overlap. No more pain, no blisters, pinky finger has gone back to 'normal'. My game improved and my HDCP has gone down since this change (12.4 - 6.7). This may not be the answer you're looking for, but this worked for me.

I was suffering from the same issue and decided to go back to the overlap grip. Some people just aren't meant for the interlock.

I had the same problem and switched to 10 finger and overlap.

I did the same as others, switched from interlock to overlap. Imo you have the pressure of those two fingers on the grip and added pressure of interlocking both fingers. Added pressure is problem. Does not happen with overlap where finger just rides on other finger.

I suppose I could go back to overlap but the interlock just feels so much more natural to me. Overlap always feels like my right hand doesn't have quite enough club in it.

Honestly I spent some time in my house just making the overlap feel natural and then went out and hit some shots with it and I am hitting no better or worse but now my pinky feels great. At a +3 I imagine it would be a big change but you can always try what I did and just spend some time on the grip at home and then take it to the range for a small bucket and see how it feels. Luckily for me I am still learning and at the point where a grip change isn't a really big deal for me other than getting over different feel when I grab the club and making sure it doesn't mess with my release too much which I don't feel it has.

If grip pressure is the problem, would larger/smaller grips help? That could be an option for the gent who's a +3. I never thought about it, I just changed my grip again.

Time for the split handed grip! Haha. Seriously, have you tried the ten finger grip? It feels weird but it's perfect if you're trying to get the feeling of more right hand on the club.

Ya my finger is so crooked and swollen and I've just been sucking it up but it literally stings after every shot. I think I might try overlap, problem is my SS is around 116-118 and I feel like I can't hang on to the club at that speed lol
