So the Brick is being released, those of you with torque balanced experience, hoe does it compare to a plumber neck?

You were right, it does look dumb. But if it works, who cares? Lots of clubs look dumb, but work great. Go with it!

Best advice I can give you is: Do an Edel fitting. Mine was eye-opening. I'm still not sure I like the way my putter looks, but I do like knowing that I aim it properly.

I rolled a few with the Brick yesterday... asides from the onset setup at address, i couldn't get past the ting sound at impact, almost like a bell.

I live pretty close to Liberty City here in TX where Edel is located , if I get some cash this summer I may go up and get fitted , I believe Golf Galaxy does the fitting here in SA but I'm sure the fitting is more comprehensive at the HQ

They had a few at PGA Super store the other day. I'm a lefty but rolled the right handed version. I prefer the look of the E-1 thur E-3 series better than the brick. I believe JB Holmes is rolling the E-3

I have the E-3 Torque Balanced and fooled around with The Brick at the PGA SS this weekend. In fact, I almost bought The Brick, but I had other purchases with golf to make, and I'm going on vacation along with buying a new car (and paying taxes this week).

The Brick more closely resembles a SeeMore style of putter whereas the regular Torque Balanced putters look more like a traditional, modern day putter except they really are not cavity back like the Anser, Zing and modern day mallet designs.

The Brick also has a milled face whereas the Torque Balanced has a pixl insert. That creates a different feel. The best way I could compared it is like comparing hitting 2 different drivers like a TaylorMade or the old Cleveland Hi-Bore XLS (The Brick) vs. the Nike or Wishon drivers (Torque Balanced). The Torque Balanced feels more like a compressed head while The Brick feels a little more tinny. I would say that the Brick was very slightly more preferable in terms of feel for me. It also felt like I couldn't mis-hit The Brick. But, I still love the feel of my Torque Balanced putter.

Another difference is the Toe-Up design. Both are Toe-up designs, but the Torque Balanced is more at 85 degrees while the Brick is right at 90 degrees. I would imagine if you have trouble with pulled putts, you may prefer the Torque Balanced. With pushed putts, you may prefer The Brick.

Either way, I think a lot of owners of the Brick will really like it and I'll probably end up buying one of my own as well. Another great putter from a great putter making company.

Just rolled a few with the brick at the pga store here, wow I was so impressed I nearly bought one. Crazy how easy it is to keep square throughout the stroke which is my main problem. I really liked it but since Im so anal about putters gonna take my time and may order one custom from edel. Really worth a shot if you havent rolled it.

I just bought one myself. I have the Torque Balanced E-3. I think I putt well with the E-3 on faster greens. The big difference is the face contact. It just feels like The Brick has a higher club head MOI than the E-3. However, that might be the weighting involved. The Brick has a built-in internal shaft weight of 50 grams and I don't think my E-3 does.

So far, I'm really digging it.

So I have an E-2 and I'm highly considering The Brick. Is the sound really tinny? That's really what my hold up from ordering it. I prefer a smooth mellow sound like the Nike Method Midnight has.

The brick I putted with at the PGA store didnt have any tinny sound but they had the chrome soft balls to putt with. I think it will depend on the ball. I think I may order one from edel this week as I havent stopped thinking about it and they will do custom lengths. They charge for shipping but its only 7 bucks so whatever. I havent seen the headcover yet and am considering the weight kit as well. Has anyone ordered direct from Edel?

Just bought a brick at the PGA SS here in Dallas, will take it out this weekend hopefully weather permitting. Was going to order but the 35 inch just seemed perfect for me and my putting style plus the pure grip has little taper so a minor choke down is possible. If anyone wants some real world pics let me know.

Get fit for a Brick or any Edel -- it's about aim first. Buying an Edel off the rack is just not a smart decision.

I actually disagree with this, sure fitting is a good thing, I have been custom fit for my whole bag. But if someone likes a putter at a store and the store accepts returns whats the harm... The edel putter standard off the rack fits my exact specs from my last putter fitting so I figured what the hell. I usually know if I like a putter after about 2 holes with it.

And to your point do you think all the pros on tour with their toe in the air or toe on the ground really cared about custom fitting? I can name more than a few that did just fine with a putter that didnt sit perfectly flat or had a laser attached to it before they bought it.

For me one of the most important things in a putter is the look, if I like the look I have confidence... That brick does not fit my eye, but to each his own

I think all of them are hideous looking - and they seem mega overpriced as well (like all Edel products)

They are all hideous. And overpriced.

And yet, somehow it helps me aim way better than anything else I've played.

But yep, they're ugly and expensive. No doubt about that.

Wow just played 9 holes with the brick and Im impressed so far. one thing it kind of promotes from my perspective is a release of the putter head without the hands turning over. I kind of feel like I putting similar to Zach Johnson with my hands back as opposed to the forward press Ive been accustomed to for the last 20 years. Its very easy to keep square throughout the stroke as it kind of just looks like a rectangle you want to keep straight. Its gonna take some getting used to, I am not sure I like the 35 inch length I bought so I may take it back and order one from edel but I really like it so far. My struggle is getting the putter too far inside and hitting a push so this helps me maintain as square to square as one could possibly do. Anyway just wanted to give my feedback.
