If I turned pro, I'd be really serious about my game. Because I'd be so serious, I'd have to go Titleist, because they're for serious players.

I'm with titleist now and love them. I'm just torn because it's no secret that TM has better woods. Titleist woods are good, I just think they could do better. But Titleist is great with pretty much everything else. And I've never owned Callaway clubs but every time I've taken swings with them they've felt solid. I'm not all that interested in them but it's on the table regardless

Ohhh this is an actual question not a hypothetical, shame I hate living in the real world, but if we must I'd stick with titleist.

Haha just figured I would see what companies people like. I've been with titleist since the beginning so I don't know what it's like for others with different club manufacturers. In the end I'll end up picking what I thinks best for me obviously. It's really hard to find a better brand than titleist...if they would just let me use taylormade woods...

How are you on tour and no one is paying you to play their clubs? I call phony on the no money. And BTW, I'd play whomever payed me the most. Only on WRX do people think it matters. They're just golf clubs. A guy with a tour quality move can play with anything. It's like flavors of ice cream. Some guys just like chocolate. If somebody pays him big bucks to eat vanilla, you think he eats vanilla?

Didn't realize you actually face this dilemma... no money involved, play TM woods and Tilteist irons.

Order the latest and greatest Titleist woods in normal Stiff shaft and flip 'em and buy the TaylorMades.

Which Titleist irons do you play? If you play AP-2's I'd probably stick with Titleist, but everything else probably has a pretty reasonable TMag equivalent.

Titleist partly because I don't think I could see myself using a ball other than my ProV1x and because the new SM6 are amazing, The 915 woods are better than taylormade in my opinion and I love my Scotty Cameron. All that being said I'm sure I could get use to some 716 MBs if I had to to get all the other benefits. With me being a 17 year old Amateur the thought of Scotty Cameron hand making me a scotty is a contract signer in itself. who knows only time will tell, being a professional golfer is a job and making money is a very important thing.

I don't think you know much about being on staff with a company. There are different levels. Guys with status on major tours get some comp for using a certain brand. Everyone else gets free stuff and that's it. Or if they really feel bad for you they'll just charge like 40% off wholesale or something.

okay my apologies, I assume you thought I was talking about already being on the PGA tour. In that case yes, there is a lot of money involved!

I agree, my prov1 has never let me down and vokeys are great. The part about which woods are better though, I'm looking at numbers and numbers only. In that case, TM is better. They fly further, have more ball speed, and less spin than Titleist

Turned "teaching" pro. A ha, very different. I have a bunch of friends that are assistant pros. They seem to switch around a lot to get a variety of stuff. Whatever floats your boat. Titleist is probably the best gig for a teaching pro. I don't think TaylorMade's woods are that much better. Maybe you need to tweak the shafts in your Titleists.

personally my 915 flys way farther than my R1. My 915 carrys around 280 and rolls out to 320. My R1 took a perfect poke and great conditions to get those numbers. That is just a personal preference and everyones swing and numbers are different. Both clubs however I love.

I hated TM until I tried their SLDR driver, then hated the junk after that until the M1

no I did not mention teaching pro. Touring pro that does not have status yet. Only guys with status on a major tour get money for using a certain brand. The rest of us just get whatever we need for free until reaching a level where we can then make money for using one brand over another

Correct although there are some contracts for non status players that give them some money to play their clubs as well as incentives built into the contract if player gets world ranking points or gets status on web, euro or pga tour.

You did not mention Nike in your choices, have you considered Nike?

If there is no money involved I would just keep dancing with the girl that brought you there. If you used Titleist to the success where you got a chance to turn pro, and nothing has dissuaded you from their products, keep going. There will always be another chance to switch, hopefully with $$ incentive.
